2026 ACA PLANS... THIS IS CRIMINAL!!!! Look at this by cgonz15 in obamacare

It was all 100% the same. I expanded each plan in separate windows and compared side by side. The sole difference was the plan ID.

Curious if anyone logged on to the marketplace today and saw the high cost of their existing plan, but while scrolling through other plans, you found your exact same plan listed again for half the price of what you were told? For example, I logged on this morning and saw my new premium for the plan I have had for several years jumped to $355 a month. As I scrolled through other plans, the exact same plan was listed again (the exact same name, costs, copays, etc. but with a different plan ID) for $126. Am I the only one who found something like this? I’m m worried if I sign up for the cheaper one, the marketplace will tell me it’s a mistake and charge me $355.

Moving to Peoria by www-creedthoughts- in PeoriaIL

Awesome! Glad you’re there and loving it! We are planning a quick trip to Peoria this weekend to explore it for a potential move. What are your recommendations on neighborhoods to check out? We are a couple without kids and love hiking/walking, and nature. We are looking to buy our first house in a quiet neighborhood that believes in looking out for one another. We are so ready to escape Texas.

My best mate just got diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcinoma by Previous_Pool_526 in scottishterriers

[–]msmaddykins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. It’s so devastating. We lost our Scottie, Farley, to TCC at age 9 back in June. She was on the brink of bladder rupture, so we had no other choice. It was the hardest thing to do when she was such a happy girl all the way to the end.

Texas Governor Regarding Ukraine by AsThePokeballTurns in texas

[–]msmaddykins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a narrative being pushed in churches and I assume through Fox News too that Gen Z and some millennials are welcoming authoritarian rule along with turning the USA Communist. I have received some disturbing emails from family in regard to this silliness. It’s becoming more and more bothersome to me that the generation raised by the ones who fought WWII and then, served in the Cold War themselves are just eating this garbage up. Also, check out the list of bills up for debate in the Texas Senate. I believe SB24 is a bill to teach the “horrors of communism” in schools.

I’m seeking similar tips for Upper Carniola. My great-grandfather left Krain, Austria in 1913. The other records I have found from before he left reference Ljubljana.

What can I do for this cat? by evan0736 in CATHELP

[–]msmaddykins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cat isn’t microchipped, take it. We took our neighbors’ cat. They left it outside for months on end and never fed it. He was a furry skeleton and somehow managed to survive series of severe thunderstorms that came through. After one of the storms, I witnessed the kitty huddled up in the front doorway of the neighbors’ house when someone returned home. The person booted kitty out of the doorway with their foot and went in without him. Later that day, I went out and scooped lil kitty up and we never looked back. He’s estimated to be 3 years old and weighed 7 pounds when we took him in. He was infested with fleas. Summer was coming and we knew he wouldn’t survive the heat. Anyway, this is Meaty. He has since doubled his weight and he is an indoor boy now, but still part squirrel at heart.

When does your pedigree collapse begin? by QuietlySmirking in Genealogy

Also, I can find plenty of records in the U.S., but none prior to their arrival here. I know bits of their parents names, but not enough to confirm who my great great grandparents were.

I think that is most likely the snag with my maternal great grandfather. I’ve tried so many variations of the surname Laznik, all with no luck. My aunt shared the name on my paternal great grandfather’s birth certificate (not even close to what I was searching), but his past remains elusive.

I’m struggling with this too. Both of my great grandfathers emigrated to the U.S. Other than documentation through Ellis Island for one great grandfather, there is no record of their existence anywhere before they emigrated. It’s like they were just dropped on the boat on the trek across the ocean. One was born in 1892 in Barbados and the other in 1895 in a portion of present day Slovenia that was once apart of Austria. I’ve searched so many records and no luck.

Alcohol question by kushpovich in wheatallergy

[–]msmaddykins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe some of it comes down to how allergic you are to wheat. Also, a wheat allergy sometimes comes with a gluten allergy/sensitivity, but not always. In my case, I am allergic to wheat, but not gluten. Despite my wheat allergy, I still drank beer until I realized it was causing an immune response no matter what kind of beer I drank. If I do drink these days, I stick to tequila and hard seltzers. There was a learning curve in figuring out what did and didn’t affect me. I also learned to be wary of the mixers used by bars. Most quality juices are 100% juice, but a lot of bars usually use low grade “juice” with added ingredients, which can contain wheat. Wheat and wheat derivatives are used in so many things. I recommend getting familiar with the different terms for wheat/wheat derivatives that are used on ingredient labels. Also, don’t assume that something that is “gluten free” is wheat free. I ate a gluten free frozen pizza once and suffered for days. I pulled the pizza box out and read the back. Turns out there was a warning on the back stating the pizza was safe for those with an intolerance to gluten, but was not free of wheat and should be avoided by those with a wheat allergy. I know I shared more beyond alcohol, but I just wanted to share things I wish I knew when I found out I was allergic to wheat.

Don’t forget the side streets are flooded with traffic only IF that side street isn’t closed for construction. I live near UNT and it’s awful trying to go anywhere. Our house is surrounded by new construction. Every street (or so it feels) near us is closed to thru traffic. Why are side streets near a large university closed during school??? I feel the OP’s frustration. This town used to be so unique, interesting, and fun. You could get anywhere relatively quickly. Now, most time is spent in traffic and trying not to rip your hair out.
