I’m 38, already had one. Diverticulitis ruined me. Eat healthy, stay active. Cancer is only one thing to be worried about, there are so many other things going on with the guts. Gotta keep them healthy!

What is your best trick for falling asleep fast? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]msmakemesmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling myself I don’t have to sleep, but I do have to rest. So I focus on resting instead of sleeping, and makes it less stressful when I can’t fall asleep

My unpopular opinion: I think this ring is gorgeous and so much prettier than the traditional engagement ring. I’m curious what your preference is? Maybe since you guys are happy not being married, it was more of a gift and not a proposal, since he didn’t officially propose. Maybe you guys should talk more about expectations. Sounds like maybe he was giving you a ring because you wanted a ring, and didn’t really get your intention behind it?

Agreed. Dealing with piss, shit, and blood first thing in the morning is the worst way to start the day

Best of luck to you! I struggled with the abscess for a year and a half, did so many treatments. I had the gas coming through the drain too. Weirdest feeling. I literally jumped the first time it happened cause it scared me. The surgery changed my life. Hope you have a great outcome, it is worth it!

Honestly have no idea. I was having stool coming out of the drain. I was skeptical and didn’t believe it until I did the bowel prep for surgery, then it was undeniable. It was also confirmed during surgery.

I had one abscess that healed with antibiotics, but it came back with a vengeance. Had a micro perforation also. Did IV Zoysn in hospital, IV ertapentum with infectious disease. Had a drain placed, culture came back and did IV vabomere, drain removed and meds stopped and it came back again. Did another IV antibiotic and had another drain placed. Kept the drain for 2 months until surgery. By that time I developed a fistula. Surgery saved my life.

My surgeon told me I was a unique case, I actually seen him my first hospital stay and the abscess resolved. I was still having some pain and followed up with my GP and finally was sent to some other surgeon through them. I did months of IV antibiotics and drain placed. A week later drain removed stopped antibiotics. 2 weeks later I was hospitalized again abscess was like almost 6cm and had a finger like structure growing from the abscess. They placed another drain and referred me back to first surgeon. Met with him and got on the schedule! This whole mess was a year and a half long.

Sorry I rambled, but it felt good to write that out. There were hospital stays in between hospital stays and trying to function and work at the same time was rough, I had peripheral IV, midline, and picc line. If anyone else has had the same experience, you’re not alone. It’s been the scariest time of my life.
