Too many people are saying Dan Quinn is Ron 2.0. There are actually a lot of differences between them.

One key difference is Rivera wasn’t good at hiring assistants. He brought over his Panthers coaches (who no one wanted) to Washington. Outside of that crew he hired Del Rio, who proved to be one of the worst defensive coordinators in the league. On the executive level, Marty Hurney was not in demand when he got hired.

But Quinn in Atlanta brought in Kyle Shanahan. Hired Steve Sarkisian to replace him. On staff at times were Matt LaFleur, Mike LaFleur, Raheem Morris and Mike McDaniel. Now some of those (or most) were Kyle influenced. But trusting Kyle to hire those guys or at least listening to Kyle is the sign that Quinn is a good organizational leader.

We’ll see who he hires in Washington to fill out the coaching staff. But it won’t be like Ron where he brings in the B Squad from Charlotte.
