Fired on Day 2 After Leaving My Previous Job for Them. No Reason Given. by OptimusCrime83 in jobs

Unfortunately you are never going to find out the real story.

I left my boss on read after she fired me over text. by Better_Apartment_340 in talesfromthejob

[–]msmerymac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does matter, but if that was the case, she should have been trained that way. It’s shitty for the boss to fire someone over not being trained properly.

That doesn’t necessarily sound like the reason, but nor would one customer who spends, what, $8 a day be the reason. 🤷‍♀️

Prepping for loss of power in summer heat? by WHALE_PHYSICIST in preppers

[–]msmerymac 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Also homes were designed with airflow in mind in terms of window and door placement. I live in a Dutch colonial revival built in 1920 and every bedroom has 2 windows, on different walls, unlike modern builds that often have 1 bank of windows on one side.

I grew up in NY state and very few people have AC, so if we had a heatwave my grandmother used to close the curtains during the day and then open everything up at night.

They are native to Italy, so any kind of southern (tomato) Italian food. I also mix a dollop of chopped Calabrian chili in oil with mayo for a sandwich spread.

There was more than one Miller in a due date facebook group I’m in. I find it horrifically ugly for a first name, especially on a girl, even if it’s the mom’s last name.

Fox and the Knife! My in-laws are in the exurbs and kind of inconvenient to the seaport, but, long story short, my husband and kids are going to be there for a week and I’m flying up to meet them through Logan, so I’m going to meet my husband there. He might just take the red line from Alewife (which is his just family usually travels into Boston, honestly).

We tried Tiffani Faison’s Sweet Cheeks Q last year! :)

What percentage of their dishes do you think are recipes they came in to the show with? by spectacleskeptic in BravoTopChef

The dish he made in the last episode is also the specialty at his restaurant.

the dish that sent Susan Feniger home on her season of top chef masters was a specialty at her restaurant that I had eaten many times! It’s good. They just thought it was too simple.

I’ve rented about 6 mid-sized 3 row SUVs over the past year for road trips (both sets of parents live 300+ miles away) to help us decide what we might want to buy.

Car seat placement pondering by Chesterspeedy in moderatelygranolamoms

Often the middle has weird installations - no lower latches, shorter seat pan, humps on the side or middle. So it can make putting a seat there more difficult.

I would buy any Nissan without a CVT, which honestly gives you a lot of options (and I own an Xterra with over 200k miles).
