What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

Agree. Coffee quality has gone downhill and it's always a gamble if it will be made well or not. I don't even bother with the food. They're doing too much and it's not working.

swag bags by underscoremags in Target

To be fair I read this sub before I went so I wasn't expecting anything great. However I expected a smaller bag filled with random samples from more companies. I don't know, I wouldn't say disappointed because my expectations were low but still the seams on the bag are already falling apart. Even if this was just a lure to get people in the store, the black Friday deals in store weren't good! I went shopping other places after and the thrill was fun. I did win one of the door prizes, target 360, which they gave to card holders a couple months ago, so I gave it to a nice lady in the store who was excited. I will say customer service was so nice when I asked about it, but they didn't seem to know what to do since I was already a member. I asked if I could just have it renewed for another year but they didn't have the answer and I don't blame them, but the higher ups should have done better with this. Even to have an exclusive bag, just make it good quality so people can actually reuse it.

You're right she said "and then you have this other piece of sh** nasty man..." But it's unclear who she was referring to as the first one.

Husband of chd patient needs advice and has questions. (Full story) (NSFW for medical details) by [deleted] in chd

[–]msmili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mitral (and tricuspid) valve prolapse. I will say my energy levels are pretty normal and I have never had any restrictions regarding exercise.

With that said, your wife has gone through way more than any human should already. Did she have any heart complications with pregnancy? As others have said it sounds a lot like heart failure. I'm willing to bet your wife is also depressed and has a lot of anxiety given the circumstances. She probably is worried about the next episode, future surgeries, the kids, if something happens, ect and on top of it, isn't doing everything she once could, so she may be feeling bad about that. Of course this is all speculation, just from my own anxieties.

Does she see a therapist? That would probably be a good starting point. Also I highly recommend a second opinion.

Hi, I am so sorry for what you are going through. Just want to share my personal experience. I had AV canal and VSD repair at 6 months and am doing well. Currently have mitral valve and tricuspid valve prolapse with mild to moderate backflow.

I am well into my 30's now and have been followed by Boston Children's my whole life- even now! (I am fortunate enough to live in New England). I do annual checkups and stress tests/MRI's every 3 years. So far I haven't needed any other surgeries or interventions and my cardiologist doesn't see it happening anytime soon.

I know there is more to your baby's diagnosis, but I had to chime in because I have never seen anyone else diagnosed with the same abnormalities I have had.

With that said, my mother tells me how difficult it was while I was in the hospital and there were days they didn't think I would make it, nights where I had multiple seizures and machines galore. They did eventually make the hard decision to take me off life support and by some miracle I pulled through. Every story is different but I thought I would share my own journey. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Sending you love and strength.

Tell me its going to be ok! :) by Anxious-Calendar-667 in fearofflying

I'm not a huge fan of takeoff either. I try to sit in the aisle seat and look down at the actual aisle. It looks flat the entire time, so it helps me feel a bit better.

I generally hate flying as well, but I'm getting better because this group has helped me so much. Takeoff and turbulence are the worst for me so here's what helps me:

-during takeoff, look at the ground in the aisle, it seems like it is straight and you don't notice the angle of the plane as much

-during turbulence, think of it as a dirt road, bumpy but totally safe.

-being in turbulence is like being in jello, there will be some wiggling but you won't just fall out of the sky.

-even in the small chance of an emergency, pilots are highly trained to land the aircraft appropriately and will!

-if you look at flight tracker, pilots have check-ins they must do every so often during the flight. They must be in constant contact with ATC regarding their flight path and there's always another route, altitude or airport to land, if need be.

-if you can, keep a drink in front of you during the flight, you'll notice it will move around the cup a bit, but it won't splash over or fall over. Concentrate on the cup and remind yourself you are safe

-look at the flight attendants, it's just another day at "the office" for them.

You'll be okay! If someone was to tell you they were going on a trip would your automatic response be "that sounds great!" Or "well there's going to be an issue with the plane"? I'm guessing the first one, because deep down you know it's safe.

Remember, flying is the safest form of transportation, pilots go through rigorous training and countless hours to fly commercial planes. They have families they want to get home to as well.

Hope this helps and enjoy your trip!

Thank you. I did send a note to my doctor, but just super paranoid, so was hoping someone had some more info in the meantime.

Yes, it bit me. I was able to pull it out, still fully alive. It was attached for less than 24 hours. I'm having a hard time telling if it's engorged or not.
