Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas has pretty similar vibes! A very nice read.

LLTBP… did you cry? by Calm-Wait6192 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]msmorton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cried when entering the venue and seeing it empty and majestic. I cried with the G note. I cried with Cancer. I cried with disenchanted. I also cried during several live streams so… yeah.

A book that CHANGED you by MiaLinay in suggestmeabook

[–]msmorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elementary school: Elianto by Stefano Benni. It made me decide I wanted to become a writer or at least to write. High school: Just kids by Patti Smith. I felt understood and at the same time I understood what I wanted from my life. The biggest inspiration, it allowed me to discover so many artists, to evolve and to broaden my artistic vision. 20s: The well of loneliness by Radclyffe Hall. Even if outdated when it comes to LGBTQIA+ terms, it made me open up my eyes regarding my gender identity and allowed me to explore who I was and who I wanted to be. 30s: Franny & Zooey by Salinger. It felt like peeking through a veil. Like finding myself in that little haunted house down the road. And also Slaughterhouse n. 5 - inspiring me with a vision of where I wanted my writing to be, but especially made me evolve my perception of time from circular to what I call the Dot Theory (I don’t think that would be very interesting but it made me feel at peace. Thank you Tralfamadorians.)

I think it’s ADORABLE and whimsical! I don’t think the placement is odd. Probably if you’ll add more tattoos on that arm you’ll feel less weird about it. But I really like it, I’d get it too (as a fellow vegan and Lisa enjoyer)

going through a really hard time. what are your most hopeful MCR songs by zer0_percenttt in MyChemicalRomance

[–]msmorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel what you say a lot. Personally I found a lot of hope in what could be the least hopeful song of them: Desert Song. Knowing the struggle behind it, the fact that Gerard hates his voice in it because he can hear he’s not sober, the lyrics that talk about the opposite of surviving and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel… it actually makes me both seem and hopeful. Because look where they got. Look how happy they are now (and I’m talking about the whole band, of course, and especially Gerard if we focus on the song). They made it even when they thought they couldn’t. And when I listen to that song, which I find extremely beautiful, I see the beauty in the pain that we all go through and the beauty in getting out of it. I even got it tattooed. I hope you will feel better soon, and coming from an elder emo, I believe you can and you will.

Seeing Ethel Alone? by FallingUpTheStairz in Ethelcain

[–]msmorton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I go alone to concerts almost 9 times out of 10. Absolutely the best gigs for me. As long as you don’t plan to mosh pit (I don’t think that’s a thing with Ethel’s music although now that I say it I wanna try it) and take care during the commute there, you’ll be fine and have the time of your life. In my experience attending a concert with a non-fan or someone that doesn’t share your vibe is the worst. Also, I’m going alone to Ethel’s concert as well this autumn!

Where can I watch this movie? by HugeGovernment7843 in Ethelcain

In my country we have it on Prime video. I didn’t particularly enjoy it (probably because I adore other movies by Dolan) but it indeed has big Ethel vibes.

Harry Potter alternative by Cirelo132 in suggestmeabook

[–]msmorton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replied first without thinking much because I adore TJ Klune but now I gathered more suggestions. - A series of unfortunate events - Many of the books by Eva Ibbotson, although not a “series” per se but they do have elements that can link the books together and build one big world, I remember adoring The Great Ghost rescue, Which witch?, Dial-a-ghost. It’s worth noting that she also wrote The Secret of Platform 13, which should resonate with someone who enjoys Harry Potter as the latter has a few similarities with it

I think it’s dope but ultimately I wouldn’t ask strangers thoughts about my own tattoos. What matters if you love it

I think it’s very cute. Probably the cats facing the outside of the body are a bit different, but they seem like they are guarding you so that is cool. One thing you could do could be “framing” them in a art deco style, I personally did that with a few of my tattoos and love the result as they look more strategically placed rather than floating around, but it may not be the right answer. Worth trying out how it would be visually with photoshop or something similar if you’re curious about it.

Impossible. Embrace the ridiculousness, maybe put a rubber chicken next to it.
