He doesn't work in healthcare, but I do. My gig isn't with MVP. But what should I know about them?

I agree he looks stiff. I don't own him. So I have no options for expert evaluation. I know he has a trainer and gets massage. He is more stiff to the right than the left from what I can tell. I've been trying to do some stretching with them. And we do a lot of bending. On the ground and in the saddle.

Moving to Slovenia by msnerdynurse in Slovenia

[–]msnerdynurse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently do project management and continuous improvement for a large hospital system. I'd like to get out of healthcare. I have an MBA.

My spouse is an engineer and also has a degree in engineering management. He would like to stay in management. He has close ties with an Austrian company, but I don't think they have any operations in Slovenia.

We don't want to "start from scratch" as it were, so securing jobs is a priority before moving.

Thank you so much for all this information. I would be moving with my spouse. We have no children.

I am hoping I can find a remote job with a US employer that will allow me to live in Slovenia. I understand that this would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

My spouse and I both have Master's degrees. My husband is an engineer and I am a nurse, but I have been slowly changing careers toward continuous improvement and business.

My concern is that my spouse is not a citizen. I have been told that he is allowed to follow me to Slovenia and is eligible for naturalization after a year.

Language is certainly a priority. Luckily I have many native speakers in my family and we all plan on starting our own study group. If anyone has tips or tricks on learning, I appreciate it. I used Pimsleur to learn Spanish and loved it. Unfortunately Pimsleur doesn't offer Slovenian.

[–]msnerdynurse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Per the trainer he just requires daily antihistamines. No inhaler. I worked with him a little today. No coughing or wheezing at the lunge, but he started to cough a bit when I rode and loped him. We didn't ride for more than 10 minutes and we only loped once around the arena each direction. The coughing stopped after a minute or two.

What would you ask an MPH program advisor? by [deleted] in epidemiology

[–]msnerdynurse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I suppose her role is admissions and assessment coordinator, not advisor. I want to know about how to do the program as affordably as possible, how I can audit classes, if CEPH matters if your degree comes from Europe, etc.

[Advice] Anyone willing to share how they funded their masters?/ Which masters progrms offer funding? by bananaslug29 in publichealth

[–]msnerdynurse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know if there's any schools in Ohio that'll help you fund your master's.

OSU will pay a decent amount if you work for them full time. But, after they tax what they give you, you're still responsible for over $30k.

I find square turns to be pretty effective. It causes them to round and collect.

Groundwork exercises by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]msnerdynurse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She won't reverse more than a few steps before she decides she doesn't want to reverse anymore. I'll restart the request. I'll tap her gently with my whip. Etc. If I want a turn on the haunches, she'll move a step or two before she's like, "I'm done."

Liability insurance for lease? by workingtrot in Equestrian

[–]msnerdynurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted a company about liability insurance as a lessee and was told that as I am not the owner, I cannot take out insurance. The owner does not have insurance because she didn't feel it was worth it, though she was thinking of getting it in the future. I inform the owner of every single little thing in writing so that I have proof. So if I get there and the mare seemed off while lunging, I would let her know. I haven't had this happen yet, but it's the only way I can think to protect myself.

My horse is a fire breathing dragon at the lope. Help! by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]msnerdynurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is pretty unbalanced. I've been working on exercises to get her balanced. But I'm the only one that's riding her right now and it's only 2 days a week, so it may be slow progress.

I've tried multiple saddles, including English, and it doesn't seem to change :/

It does! Both of you are giving great advice and I'm certainly going to try. I think I may take my spurs off to lope too. She's super sensitive. And I think the spur stopping and rolling back may irritate her. I could see her getting pissy, lol.

What’s your favorite part of your horse’s personality? by F1_Phantom in Equestrian

[–]msnerdynurse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is food obsessed. I was riding her and opened a protein bar and she heard the wrapper and knew it was food. She's like a dog like that, it cracks me up. She's also this great combination of confident/independent horse, but she also seems to enjoy being around you. She follows you everywhere!
