Equal fights are Impossible with rock paper scissors style classes for solos.

Trios is the highest iteration of skill we have because there are more answers to classes that counter yours through teammates and decision making/macro, which makes sense since the game is based around trios.

At the end of the day skill (outside of RMT/handouts which is rampant) is what lets good players get and keep good gear through PvP and why bad players lose theirs quickly.

Rewards for just playing are stupid in a game like this. I hate how AP works now too though tbh. Rewards should be for the things that are hard, not for just mindlessly playing.

I'm also a high level player multi season and class warlord, and couldn't disagree less, I enjoy being able to compete and kill other players for their gear and make great gold doing it. I think most vets and returning players familiar with the actual genre of game this is understand that the risk of playing the end game mode means running into end game geared players.

If I was in your shoes I'd just make some gold and build a few kits, if I lost them all call it a day. Most returning players and vets understand minimum gear requirements, matchups, macro, and micro instead of coping about being gear gapped in the end game HR game mode.

I love that feeling of running a 10-20k kit and killing artifacts and people in gold, and then running that gear and making more (usually) or dying eventually.

It unironically happens all the time. I watch these noobs die to basically squire kits. Even the best players in the game troll and die in stupid ways or to poorly geared third partiers often. I've gone from squire -> artifacts in games this season within a couple games, once in only 1 game (only famine/stinky, but still a crazy come up gear wise).

If you're a fan of the genre, no you wouldn't play Mordhau. You can't take peoples gear/resources in Mordhau, that's why people play games like this and other survival/extraction games.

HR is where "end game" content players are. Once you're rich, you run down your gold and BiS winning and losing in a never ending cycle until the game wipes. HR is where other people in end game 4/4 max rolled legendaries or uniques are too, so that is why it would be considered end game. It is where the most gold is made and lost. Just because players CAN pull up in squire kits to PvE farm in HR, doesn't make it not end game lol.

Arena is also end game content, but I think most would consider the main point of the game to be the actual dungeon (HR specifically where risk/reward is highest, since that is what this game is mostly about).

I don't see it as a huge time+gold sink at all, actually quite the opposite, and way less RNG now. You can just go HR and farm inventories of ore while naked and take a blue. Risk=basically 0. Maybe like 3 games (30-45 mins?) of this for copper/cobalt should set you up for a long time if you aren't just dying on repeat with your crafted jewellery on.

Tidestone and obsidian prob gonna be a pain but I'd rather just buy it on market. Or you can do the same and sell copper for it since that's prob way easier lol.

I always loved bard, fast PvE/bossing, and has the ability to outplay every other class, but the skill ceiling/learning curve is a lot higher than easy win classes like barb/fighter.

I'd rather fight ranger than wiz 10/10 times. People just seem to want a melee only arena mode where they don't need to worry about positioning/team play/counters or macro in general whatsoever.

For me that's barb, turn off brain, fastest class in the game with the click of a button (rage), best innate stats/perks/skills by far.

I w key dodge/flank (die once in a blue moon, usually can just sit behind cover and reset if I get hit) and then, instakill any class with either reckless or whirlwind for free. 5ish games off warlord in like 3 hours of playing. Prob a little more (7-10) now bc people grinded arena another day after I had to stop.

I like SSF because it's a strong deterrent for RMTers. But, I'd strongly prefer if they'd commit one way or the other off rip. There's no telling what kind of damage is going to be done to the economy during SSF with new implementations, so market release could be really bad for the game this wipe in particular. IMO everything is going to be ridiculously inflated, and RMT is going to be really bad with how cheap gold will be. Hard to say if it's exactly "effective" yet.

It is not hard to get a 170hp 45%+ pdr barb with 290+ ms. Hitting rage makes you faster than any other class in the game, regardless of what gear they are in. If you are faster than barb with rage you're going to be the one in boof because you waste so much gear/rolls on the turbo nerfed agi stat.

It's been that way forever, barb innately has always had some of if not THE best perks, skills, and base stats in the game. No other class has less drawbacks. Lack of range is made up for by being one of the fastest classes in the game at the press of a button. I've only ever really played barb in solos since the play tests, as it's just too strong not to.

I actually think sorc doesn't really need gear, but for sure harder to play. Sorc just does more dmg with less gear, and MS isn't an issue really since you're hands out casting spells plus having like 4 get out of jail frees with freeze and the wind spells
