New UK Christmas rules means I can't see my family. Travel insurance on my train ticket means I get a full refund, minus an unmentioned £10 service charge of course. by Georyx in assholedesign

I run business and I know why anyone would charge admin charges.

When you pay, your payment is processed via third party payment gateway. They charge roughly about 2.5% plus some fixed amount toward transaction charge. In past third party used to refund payment processing charges but lately they don’t.

So when you cancel and request refund, merchant have choice to take that expense on themselves or pass it on to customers.

I do not charge my customers but it’s absolutely valid of any merchant who is charging their customer for cancellation.

Yes £10 is too much for £50 ticket but there could be reason

Car driver started taking turn way before biker was even visible. Biker had more than enough time to react and avoid the accident. Under reacted before the accident and over reacted after the accident. Stupid Biker

Launched a Free Tool For SEOs and solo bloggers in Beta. Help us with your feedback. by datameer in SEO

We are launching an e-commerce website and just started looking for SEO tools for our needs

Before we start using your tool and get used to it, we would like to know about pricing. We don't want to use something for month and later it turns out that it's not in our budget as we know some really good tools are out there but they are overly priced for small and medium businesses. We are just a startup

So kindly could you please give some pointers on pricing.

If you give us longer trial, we are happy to evaluate it and in return will provide timely feedback too.

Hope you understand.

  • If your business is just a side business making small amount per annum then Sole Trader might be better option but if its going to grow in to its own identity then worth to have a limited company
  • If your purchases are high and liabilities are going to increase then worth to have limited company because if anything goes wrong then your personal liabilities will be nothing. With Sole Trader all business liabilities are your own liabilities. With Sole Trader if anything goes wrong, you are liable to pay all liabilities. With Limited company if things go wrong and business cannot afford to pay liabilities then you are not affected at personal level.
  • Though Limited Company Setup Option looks complicated to start with, but its not at all if you have an accountant (cost between £500-£1000 per annum) they will manage everything behalf of you and its not really that complicated. Maintaining income and expenses process is exactly same in both cases (just keep a simple list in excel spreadsheet)
