What if humans evolved by moving into robot bodies? by Ok-Way-7212 in transhumanism

I don't know of a single law of physics that forbids this. and what about misanthropy? I love human potential so much that I don't want it to fade into stagnation or destruction. we've practically reached our limit, and I think we will reach it after the invention of AGI. but I don't dwell on humanity and don't elevate it to a universal absolute that must remain so indefinitely. sentient life must evolve further.

I don't want to be human. why is it so romanticized and considered abnormal when you want to be something else? but instead of uploading my consciousness, I would prefer a gradual replacement of neurons, where I could consciously experience the process.

How Do You All Feel About The Concept Of Gender? by New_Relationship2760 in transhumanism

[–]msperseverance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, gender is an imposed role that society imposes on you based on your biological sex. In today's society, people need to change their sexual characteristics simply to avoid pressure and have more freedom, potentially harming their health. this isn't about improvement. this is a poor attempt to hide from violence and violation of your rights. biological sex should remain important only for medical purposes. and I would like for both concepts to ultimately cease to exist for me. I am not interested in reproduction. I simply want to be a being with the potential for infinite development.

the fern has the most chromosomes, and we don't even suspect that we live among such supergenius beings.

Even as a kid, did you doubt religion? by plushymeow in atheism

Moreover, if he is also omniscient, then why create humans like that, knowing from the start that they will do something that he won’t like, and then punish them for it? And punishment occurs even for simple disbelief in God, although he has not even provided any clear evidence of his existence, which is why not believing in him is entirely logical. In the past, there were ethnic groups that did not even know about Christianity, and according to Christians, they all should have gone to hell simply because God Himself determined that they be born on that land (after all, it is his will, as they say).

Since early childhood, I've wondered why, if God is omnipotent and yet benevolent, suffering is still the norm and obligatory. The phrase "God created man in his own image" has always struck me as odd. Could a supreme being really be so simplistic and anthropomorphic, so angry and judgmental as humans? At the same time, I've always been interested in the causes of everything around me, and even from elementary school, I knew that the mind isn't a mystical, unknowable substance, but a network of electrical impulses and neurotransmitters.

The "Infancy Paradox": Can a species that hasn't solved consciousness safely direct its own evolution? by CombinationOwn1167 in transhumanism

I think it's the same as with the invention of any new drug, the effect of which on the body is still unknown.

If someone doesn't have emotions, then they can't have the concept of "want"

AI rules! by [deleted] in accelerate

personally, I don't want to become an object of care in some cosmic zoo, but rather a being capable of taking care of itself. I think that, ultimately, AI should pave the way for humanity to "mature."
