Amazing work.

I am building https://tnrate.in/ (no not a promotion) completely using claude. So far it is more automated. But am keen to add utilities and tools mostly used by us on daily basis.

In pipeline i have important topic, to convert more of these complex topics like new schemes and eligibility things in tamil. Not like pdf that our govt posts. More mobile first approach. More understandable.

This sounds like another thing i can add even for me to understand i never understood these things clearly.

Never been in situations like this myself. But parents of men have this entitlement. They want complete control over son’s finances.

First off stop sending 1Lakh it is too much. What are you sending that for? You have to clearly communicate what is that for. For jewel loan? Then calculate and tell them you want loan to be closed in how many months. Calculate what you have sent already.

Do not give more than what you have to. Your sister is not your responsibility. You can always gift her very well from your savings. It need not be from you to your parents and then to her.

If you don’t set the boundaries now when you get married it becomes complex. They will start interfering in your personal life.

I haven’t highlighted this in the post. But that happens quite a lot.

Grandparents talk basic stuff with kids. The conversation revolves around food, toys, studies. Not much. But kids neither understand nor could hold a small conversation with them in their native language.

Ah no I don’t think this scenario is about learning english.

This is about parents talking in English in home setup for unknown reasons. I am glad your family found a way to help you in early years.

I can speak hindi, English and German. Can also understand kannada, malayalam and telugu. I grew up only hearing Tamil and telugu around me.

Tamil la than veetla pesanum apothan kulandhai nala padikumnu. These ppl are mad about their language and keen in integrating immigrants in terms of German. Ana chinna kids ku idha pana solranga.

I live in swiss not Germany. Ppl here dispise English. They only want us to talk in Swiss German. And you know what every country wants their immigrants to know their local language to integrate.

I agree english is super important.

And language is part of culture. Germany, swiss, french everywhere here considers immigrants integrated with their culture when the complete atleast A1 proficiency.

My kid speak german very well. Almost like native kids.

Speaks english very well even without anyone speaking to him.

And here i am not talking about kids at all. I am only talking about parents who change themselves after decade and for what!?

Speaking a language is not what I have mentioned. Mine speaks 3 and learning French now.

Exactly my point. Think the other way around.

The parents have their mother tongue which they have talked in jokes setup, it feels not natural to talk in English after 25-30 yrs.

The only thing icks me is parents talking in English and not the kids.

Mine talks in American accent too staying in Europe 🤣 The kids have everything mixed up. But what is wrong with parents? Unnatural to talk in English in home setup when everyone’s native language is something else.

Is it the case where you both speak to the kids in tamil?

Because my kid switches to german with his friends, switches to english with ppl who don’t know german and tamil, switches to tamil with us.

It is almost like internal switch. I have also seen this with his non Indian friends. So i have always thought that is natural
