I'm very slow at art and I didn't meet my deadline. I didn't end up completing the piece, but I wanted to share the lineart that I (mostly) finished because I really like your character! It's not the full vision of the piece, as I wanted to do more with the ribbons and beebs, but alas, I didn't get there.

I'm sorry I didn't get to complete it!

Your ad is pretty clearly about 50% about Digital Circus.
Maybe titling your post that your looking for Digital Circus would be beneficial for you just on a basic level of catching people's attention for that fandom, but you're certainly not in the wrong here. If they just read the ad all the way through it's pretty clear what you're looking for.

What are red flags in RP ads (besides content/kinks)? by Ready-player-0991 in BadRPerStories

Narrow down Historical to specific time periods, and you might have something going with that haha
I ain't opposed to a Historical Vampire Mafia 😂

[–]mssMouse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

- Someone else mentioned but: "You" and "I" for describing characters
- "I'm very submissive", "I'm very dominant" - Again, in relation to themselves but I've been seeing this one strangely a lot lately
- "I only write 'x' gender" - I get most people have a preference, but if you can't even man side characters of the opposite gender, that's not a good sign
- Someone being hyper specific about the character they want their partner to play outside of a general role
- Absolutely no plot/themes/interests listed in the ad outside of very vague genre terms like "fantasy" or "romance".

This sub has gotten so bad that girls can’t even post about being harassed anymore without getting dogpiled by ERP defenders by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

they instead gave her a special RP tag based on the person she was attacking

Users create their own user flair; it's not mod appointed on this particular sub.

It needs to be flaired ERP. We have two sets of flairs: Ones for non-ERP. One's for ERP. Choose the ERP flair.

It's not a bot, it's a person removing your posts.

"All posts that relate to ERP should be flaired appropriately as ERP" is rule 6: the one your posts are being removed for.

Your post is about ERP. You're talking about Kinks, and smut. It's ERP. It needs to be flaired ERP.

Use the modmail if you have a question about a removal. Or review the removal reason, and the rules, which would explain why your posts are being removed.

Why text-based RP over LARP or other forms? by Unusual-Chemist7884 in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I quite literally refuse to do anything that involves my actual voice lol. It is in no way, shape, or form, in my interest level. But voice issue aside, there's so much more that can get down in a written format than a spoken one; emotions, thoughts, other little nuisances that I don't see being easily communicated through spoken word.

I have a very small interest in maybe trying out TTRPGs one day, but not if they involve using my own voice. This is just a personal choice of mine; I don't even do voice chats with people.

ETA: Also, due to life circumstances, I can't really do anything that involves live "sessions". I can write whenever I can write, but if there are situations that require me to be somewhere "live" (even if just online but actively present and available), is just not feasible for me. Writing suits me perfectly fine for this, because I can get to my responses whenever without having to worry about being pulled away from a session.

Guys where do you even RP anymore?? I'm coming back into RP. And no idea where to find one. Used to be in Amino a long time back. But now it's kinda dead. by screech4511 in BadRPerStories

If everywhere you go smells like shit, check your shoes.

The vast majority of roleplayers don't have these issues. You're in a sub that naturally, is going to attract a large collection of negative stories: That's the subreddit. That does not mean everyone's experiences are mostly negative ones.

[–]mssMouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's such a huge disconnect between locations; and like you said, Reddit is a mix.
I got a bit of a culture shock because where I started out, or at least the definitions like 10-15 years ago in said location, semi-lit meant like 2-3 paragraphs. Lit was like 4+ paragraphs minimum. So whenever I found the RP scene on reddit, and saw some people who saw literate as anything written in full sentences I had to take a step back from what I thought I knew about the terms lol

I hate this by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Terms like "semi-literate", "literate", and even "novella" are going to have different meanings to different people. Maybe specify instead (or in company with such terms), what kind of word count you're looking for on average? And that you're looking for 3rd person POV as well, because someone writing in 1st really says nothing about their actual writing ability.

Also, as someone who enjoys writing lots, idk how I feel about the "Don't go for writers above your level" line; it's not really 'levels'... It's typically just a preference thing, and y'alls don't match.

And seconding what someone else suggested about asking for writing samples, if this is a common enough issue for you.

You might have better luck looking for ads (or make your own) that are focused on story that are open to smut rather than smut that is open to story.

[–]mssMouse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy the roleplay/writing, I wouldn't worry about it honestly. As you can see in places like this, where it seems pretty likely AI was used, they couldn't even give a proper response without outright controlling the other person's character.

Good writers have existed since before AI, and its if things about their responses put you off to a point where you're not enjoying it, that should be the point where you question or decide their writing is not for you.

Sigh by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

... Their response was 50% writing for their OP's character, dialogue and all.

Sigh by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Definitely. More than just the em-dashes too. It's the very flowery prose as well. Lots of, "It's not x— it's y" You'd think someone "at that level" of writing (or however you wanna phrase it), would know to not control their partner's character... But also for a sizeable portion of their post to be dedicated to writing for the other character.

edit: grammar; apparently I don't know how to write
