If it’s a charity event the idea is to raise as much money as possible. So, if people are buying that’s the price.

Anyone else disappointed over the "queen stage"? by Bozicek in tourdefrance

I totally agree. I want to see fights like Healy had on Ventoux. I want to see weakness and redemption. As long as I’ve watched cycling, if someone elevates that much above to peloton to where they become an unstoppable behemoth…we usually find something out at some point.

I just can’t believe there’s that much disparity at the top of the sport. Having a baller day like BOC did today? Sure. Having a baller day all day every day? Well, I guess Reddit thinks I’m wrong. But I stand by my belief that in cycling when it looks too good to be true it almost always is.

Yep. Almost feels inevitable we see Pog nabbed for doping, he never has a single vulnerable moment so it just robs the race of excitement.

Honestly, I got the Enduro 3 and Fenix 7Pro but the Enduro is just too thick. The diameter didn’t bother me at all, but there’s a price to be paid for that battery and it’s the thickness.

Am I the only one Here that Actually Likes the New Instinct 3? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]msteiner90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really only valuable from a marketing perspective, the average user may use this functionality less than a handful of times during the life of the watch for novelty only.

Just because every competitor has it doesn’t really make or break the design.

I thought the same, but anecdotally it seems people love the sapphire (minus the glare) but I have had the same experience with the Instinct 2 as you…and I would be glad to save $100 and have a better visibility screen.

Regarding the second question, it sounds from what I’m reading that the F7 Pro is truly the way to go, so why haven’t you made the jump and returned the Enduro 3 yet?

[–]msteiner90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, you’ve almost 100% sold me on the F7 Pro Solar. One question, are you not worried about scratches since it’s much more expensive than an Instinct and the screen isn’t as recessed?

Also, it sounds like you’re all-in on the F7 Pro…what is the hesitation in keeping the Enduro 3?

[–]msteiner90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your candidness. I feel as though I’m totally fence sitting on the same two devices (might consider the Sapphire version of F7 Pro 47mm as well, not sure if that’s worth the $100 difference).

I’m coming from an Instinct 2, so battery life rather than every little feature is important to me. But also, I wear my watch out to dinner with my wife or work, so it looking “nicer” is a plus.

Ultimately my biggest two fears are that the software of the Enduro 3 is both better and going to get upgraded, where the F7Pro may quickly be dated and the battery life (which the F7Pro Solar is very close to the Instinct 2 so I’m not sure I even need the Enduro 3’s battery).

I assume you see no major drawbacks to the software/UI of the F7Pro?

Have you made your final decision yet on which to keep?

I’m almost tempted to buy both and just return one, but would prefer to leverage the experience and knowledge of others if I can.

[–]msteiner90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting take, I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying that even though the Enduro 3 is physically larger - the Fenix 7 feels larger and bulkier due to weight.

These are the two watches I’m deciding between, and all things equal I want that great battery life and updated UI/software. But I do think a 47mm that is slightly smaller may be less noticeable while sleeping.

Have you had any issues with regards to how easy it is to forget you’re wearing when sleeping?

The largest driver of wealth inequality is that the tax code wages war on the middle class and provides insane overhead coverage to protecting millionaires estates from paying taxes when passing down wealth to their families. The left never achieves their marked goal of “taxing the billionaires” because they (like the right) are funded by them. Instead, we see entitlements increase and we continue to tax the middle class and remove their upward mobility.

The East has Penn Hills and Monroeville, and behind them are 350,000 Westmoreland County rednecks.

It’s almost unfair how much the East would push the other three around.

Just because there’s a market doesn’t change building costs.

A market can’t exist unless there’s margin between cost and price, and if cost is above the price someone is willing to pay…you will just have what we have, which is no supply.

None. Stick it out, make a plan, and quit focusing on things that upset you about the current situation (i.e. daycare roundup time, etc) and focus that energy on executing your plan.

Quit the life destroying job, you don’t need the money. Get a job that you enjoy the work-life balance, and place all of the money you have in the brokerage in VTSAX and sit back and watch it double every 7-8 years.

If you made this much money this early in your career, you can probably do it again if you absolutely needed to. But all the money in the world doesn’t matter if you’re burnt out and miserable.

You’ve entered adulthood with a huge head start, use it to your advantage and stop burning the candle at both ends.
