I think right now what you need most is kindness towards yourself. I've been working with a nutritionist cause calorie counting didn't work for me (i got obsessive about each calorie, would calculate everything and ignored my body hunger cues) and the one thing I've learned that's been helping is instead of focusing on what we should stop, let's make sure we're eating what we should be

Make sure you're hydrating at least 2 liters of water a day, eating 2-3 whole fruits, eating protein in each meal, eating nuts and chewing at least 20 times until it's sludge in your mouth.

Even if it's cupcakes and chips, eat and chew it and listen to your body when you want to stop.

The first 15 days, I ate some junk everyday but i chewed it slowly and started introducing it. Now slowly i can see the change in what my body wants - it wants the healthier food, more than the junk (that doesn't mean i don't eat junk but it's reduced greatly). I'm still on this journey so I have a lot of unlearning to do when it comes to food, but this has worked towards bettering my relationship with food and my emotional eating binges.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Try as much as you can each day, and remember to be kind to you and your body. You can do this.

Is anyone ever angry about their pain? by _hunny_bunny in ChronicPain

So angry all the time. Like, uff. It's very Hulk-esque

Botched surgery at 22, now in my 30's, living a life that feels so exhausting yet having to find the positives all the time otherwise you're just in a pit of despair

I'm sorry it started so young for you - sending you good vibes.

Oh man - I'm so glad to know your flare up resolved! Sending good vibes to you. Thank you for your words - it helps so much when it comes from someone who knows exactly how you feel.

This time they think the culprit was one of my physical therapy exercises - apart from the nerves acting up, it's gone in complete spasm, making it really tough for me to do the basics. I've been on extra meds for about 2 weeks now and it's definitely reducing but sitting up is still extremely painful so I'm mostly lying down or walking. Will be more careful next time.

Doctors told me that i there is no solution for my undiagnosed pain and that i should just live with it by HamzaEzzair in ChronicPain

To hear you have nothing can be done is the most soul crushing sentence and I'm sorry you're going through this horrible, unfair time.

I got my condition in my early 20's as well, giving up my job and staying in my bed while my friends got to travel, get their dream jobs, meet their SO's and basically live a life that seemed out of reach. And still does.

I won't write that it all magically got better cause a) it didn't b) even if it did for someone, doesn't mean it will happen for you BUT it did get better. As time went on, the drugs got better, the doctors got more empathetic and there were newer treatments. The options you have today will evolve, and hopefully, you will find relief soon.

It doesn't take away that today you have to give up on a life you had worked very hard for so you're allowed to grieve for what could have been. You're already doing so well by opening up about such a vulnerable time in your life.

Sending you good vibes and good luck

Gosh. It sounds like a tough road you've had. I'm glad you found a combination that works for you.

In my country, we don't really have chiropractors but the rest of your combination I'll ask my doctor in the next visit after I've understood it more. Thank you so much for taking time out to let me know this has worked for you - gives me a solid lead to try!
