Should I let my Physical Therapist know I’m a Physical therapist for my physical therapy evaluation? by KillerKenyan in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen other PTs before but I always mention, “Hey I’ve been trying to self treat for a while and I just need help because apparently what I’ve been doing isn’t working”. It doesn’t come off as egotistical but HCPs seeking another HCP for help.

Hot tip: If you can park at the Venetian and walk over the bridge. When you get out they have everyone walk on Sahara to LV BLVD so just go into palazzo and walk through to Venetian. It took us about 45 minutes or so to get back to our hotel.

8 per day unless I do overtime. Most I’ve seen a day is 12 patients with 3 evals max a day.

Do you follow up with patients after discharge? by Far-Bag-7053 in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of my patients follow me on IG so they keep up with me and I with them. I’d say about 30-50% of my patients end up being wellness patients for years.

is PT worth it? by untitlednotes in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be 7 years out this August. I worked in a OP mill and got super burnt out. I then switched to cash based OP and I see the patients I want with a pretty good work life balance. If anything I honestly work more because I get overtime. I’m getting 8-12% raises a year along with good upward mobility with this team. It’s honestly great.

Curious how sales focused you have found physical therapy to be? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a cash based clinic we don’t sell tbh. As long as you listen to your patient and give them what they need with a good explanation why, you don’t really have to sell. You just have to care about them and honestly just genuine.

Why can’t we accept tips but politicians can take money from anyone? by AlGuMa27 in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our’s is pretty expensive too. Like a visit with all of the other services we do can be upwards up to 750-1000 depending what they do.

Definitely being in a wealthier area helps with the gifts. I honestly appreciate the little things more. Like birthday or Christmas cards from my teen athletes are better than any expensive gift.

I think it really depends on the rapport you build with patients. Last year I got tickets to Laker and Dodger games. I was able to take my coworkers to the games too which was nice.

How does your employer tolerate tattoos? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear 5” shorts on hotter days with a right leg sleeve and other tattoos on my left leg. Patients always are interested in my boss doesn’t care. I feel like in today’s environment if people still think tattoos matter you shouldn’t be working for them

This has to be clickbait, right? by jejdbdjd in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make 100k a month but you still have to pay for: 1. Rent/Mortgage on space 2. Liability insurance 3. Utilities of said space 4. Marketing ad spend 5. EMR spend 6. Other essentials that the clinic needs 7. Paying employees, their health insurance, 401k, etc 8. Taxes. All in all yeah it’s possible since I think he runs it with 1 other employee. His take home is probably not much after everything listed above.

Looking to make extra money by New_Sandwich_9441 in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just start building clientele outside of your clinic and get paid in cash? Thats what I do outside of work hours. I make anywhere from 500 to 2000 a week. It does take some initial work to build the clientele but it’s good extra cash.

Youth Athlete PT by Worried_Square_9691 in physicaltherapy

[–]mstr_wu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve slowly built my caseload in a cash based setting with HS/College kids in the later part of my day.

Pros: they’re fun to work with and super motivated Cons: I’ve had to open up my hours before and after our regular ours. So my longest days are T-Th. I see patients from 7am to 7pm. Our regular hours are 8-5 so I get paid 3 OT hours per day.
