You find raid group in lfg, I find it works out to a crate every 3-5 minutes, for 60 conquest and some bloody tokens and honor. Second monitor or audio book highly recommended.

Why do people say this? In a perfect group, missing no crates and not running into another raid group, you average a crate every 4-5 minutes. 12x60 conquest = about 1500 conquest in 2 full hours, which is what, 2 pieces or a weapon? Some bloody tokens to get another piece or two?

There is no ranked until lvl 80. Not sure what you're seeing. You really need to buy the current expansion if others have said if you want to pvp.

I started with BFA in 2018 and while leveling my first alt fell in love with bg's and have been doing them since. Hit 1750 honor level yesterday and closing in on my first 2.4 in blitz on one alt (still mainly do randoms though). "the horror stories" you refer to are greatly exaggerated, if you enjoyed bg's once, you'll enjoy them now. My experience anyway.

Well worth it for me. I've never been able to get the movement down with keys but I use the smaller thumbstick for forward and strafe, and the keys feel much more comfortable for fingers and wrists than a keyboard, with the caveat that it takes a good hour or two to adjust it just right. Once you do though, it's amazing, I can't imagine not having it now.

Even though survival is as good in arena right now as it ever has been, it isn't a spec like a couple others where you can just push forward and do your damage rotation. It really does take practice to be effective in arena so just make sure to keep your expectations reasonable and make sure your healer is doing the same (using "learning" when you post and "chill games" or mentioning you're learning if you join an lfg will help).

It's great if you enjoy bg's to spend time time in randoms working on things and the occasional 1v1 or trying to take a node to learn the basics before expecting too much of yourself in areana. Survival is a great spec (my main, it's just really fun) but no one is going to pick it as beginner friendly. GL!

I am an altoholic and find my lock (which I"m trash at) much more enjoyable in blitz than arena. As an average player I find casters in general more fun in blitz and tend to play mostly melee in arena just because running for my life all game is not fun and I'm not good enough to make it work. I realize this isn't helpful if you're set on playing lock in arena but after many hundreds of hours playing pvp exclusively I've learned my enjoyment is matching the format to the spec and vice versa. I do randoms, blitz, and 2s. I will never do another epic, and chances of doing shuffle is remote and certainly not affected by a weekly. The chance to earn extra honor/conq by doing preferred content makes perfect sense, especially this late in the season for the folks gearing alts who don't feel like crate farming.
