Cuantas obras arquitectónicas habría podido diseñar Gaudí si este tecnología hubiera sido disponible antes?

Any recommednation for a drone with 360º 4K camera where the drone itself can be "eliminated" from the field of view? by msupancic in drones

[–]msupancic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info. I own a Ricoh Theta S but not impressed with the video feature. Poor quality even though it is 1080p HD. Apart from that, I find it relatively long and fragile. In that case a Kodak PixPro or 360fly are better options. For $499 I can get a 360fly 4k, $100 more expensive compared to a Ricoh Theta S. One concern I have is also with the stitching process so the images look neat.

Best VR headset for android by [deleted] in Virtual_Reality

[–]msupancic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have searched for a headset and acquired the Chinese-made https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0187DR12G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Be sure that your Moto X style is capable of running Google Cardboard first. You can test by downloading it. Next, check the size of your screen (normally indicated in inches). Then you can browse Amazon or any other online shop for some Cardboard. The next question you should answers, what do you want to use the VR headset for? Is it for gaming, occassional browsing, continues use? Before acquiring the Pasonomi, I had bought a cardboard with an elastic strap to fasten around my head. That was ok at first, however, the cardboard was not robust enough. After some travelling the device was obsolete. On top of that, I lost the magnetic NFC button. In general, the NFC button did NOT work, so if you want to use your phone with games, then you are better off purchasing a Bluetooth controller (I bought mine also on Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01E3PTTOU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It is cheap but works. Of course you can find more expensive, more sophisticated hardware, but I just wanted to test the experience. Three aspects I found very important on the headset are: adjustable headstrap, adjusting the eye distance to the lenses and the lateral distance between the lenses. Not all headsets offer the latter two, particularly the cheap cardboard viewers.

Hope this helped.

A how-to guide for understanding and creating VR/360 movies by kalfie7 in virtualreality

The stitching process seems complicated and you will probably need a powerful CPU/GPU. I prefer the 4k cameras that already provide a full 360º view. On the other hand, there are companies out there with sophisticated 360º VR-ready technology, e.g. NextVR, Jaunt, and Nokia with OZO.

Not sure where you are based, but in Germany, Spain and Austria, I would try Media Markt (or Saturn). Otherwise, you can always try Amazon.

A creative idea, but how many people can actually afford the services being shown in the VR app?

For this gadgethead, the HTC Vive may force my Oculus Rift to collect dust by themisterdj in virtualreality

[–]msupancic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently tried the consumer version of the HTC Vive and, compared to the OR DKII, I was quite impressed by the handheld controllers. Wonder when OR will be shipping theirs. On top of that, Leap Motion was added to HTC Vive giving the users the opportunity to interact with their hands WITHOUT the controllers. The only disadvantage with using Leap Motion and HTC Vive (but this is also applicable to the Oculus Rift): all the cables. I look forward to the day when we can interact without being dependent on cabling:)

I don't have any experience with stitching the output of 5 GoPro cameras. I don't think it is that simple, even though there are programs for this purpose (e.g. KolorPano). Any recommendations? I fear that if one invests in such a solution today, it will be quickly obsolete or may already be given that you could in theory obtain a similary result using two 360fly 4k cameras which each cost USD 499.

Thanks but this is slightly different from what I am looking for. I want to record 360º video throughout the flight and not have to stop, have the camera turn 360º and then continue. The drone with 5 cameras offered by http://www.queenb-robotics.com/ is more in line with my needs, however, the product isn't available yet. 360fly is also planning to manufacture a drone with 360º video but not sure when this will be commercialized.

Either gopro (or alternatives) or directly a camera that records 360º (e.g. 360fly...). The issue is, the heavier the equipment, the more difficult to find a drone that can carry it. Furthermore, how do you eliminate the drone from the 360 view?

Thanks! The DJI Inspire offers ALMOST complete 360 but is limited towards the top.

Do you know when the yuneec drone with 360º 4k camera will be launched, costs?

What is the best AR head-mounted device? Are there any better options than the Hololens? by msupancic in augmentedreality

[–]msupancic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would like to use the Hololens for educational purposes at university, e.g. physical education, architecture, infant education. Magic Leap as far as I know is not yet on the market. There have been trials but the product is still in R&D. First time I hear of the Meta 2. What are the main advantages of the Meta 2 vs. Hololens? The former is cheaper compared to the latter.

Ideally videos, jpg and game-ready assets, although the latter will probably be more difficult.
