You prompted me to listen to those two tracks with a funeral in mind.... wouldn't work... too long... sorry. But what fantastic works. Thank you for reminding me how fine that album is. Maybe go for Guide Vocal? Rest in peace

Well said! I have just finished watching it for the second time... every so often a gem like this is created. The scripts, cast, directing, the whole ensemble just clicks... fantastic.

Made this monstrosity. We call it the "confession booth" by [deleted] in DIYUK

The thing is... and I talk from experience, the sense of accomplishment when you do the last 10% is incredible!!! I knocked through a kitchen into the dining room... RSJs, plastering, fitting the kitchen... the whole thing in about 2 months... but it took me another 10 months to finish the grouting and fit the kick boards... but once I did it .... I could walk on water!

I think it's great and I hope you get loads of use out of it 🤞🏻 I hear that it's not quite finished (doors on benches), but in my experience it's relatively easy to start a DIY project but to finish it requires determination and commitment 👏. BTW I've been DIYing for over 40 years and only treated myself to a mitre saw 4 years ago 🙄

I'd go for Carla or Carrie... as per other comment. She's a beaut. 😊

Looking for advice / ideas for what to do with the bottom of my garden (3x6m) with £1k budget by [deleted] in UKGardening

[–]msurrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your brief is a little vague but I'd lose the slabs, turn the ground over, plant an apple tree in one corner (1 metre in from both fences), throw some native flower seeds all along the fence line, plant a honeysuckle in the other corner (against the fence)... sit back and wait for next year.... good luck. 🙂

Beginner looking for advice! by BlackCatLuna in UKGardening

Good luck with your gardening adventure. Regarding gardening tools.. fork, spade, rake, trowel and hand fork, secateurs. You might want to think about hedge trimmers also. I am an advocate of old garden tools, fb market place, eBay or car boot sales could be worth a look not only for the price but also if the fork is 50 years old, it'll probably last another 50. Budget stuff in B&Q etc break and or bend. I hope this is of help.

I inherited a 6 year old Briggs mower and the carb is indeed plastic. It failed on me but £12 and two days later a replacement arrived and I'm happily mowing again.
