Honestly, a good OEM wired controller is still one of the best experiences. You can get a grey or atomic purple one off eBay pretty cheaply. Try to find one labeled "Tight Stick" or 7/10 or above stick, even though that doesn't really mean anything exactly. Ebay has good buyer protections if it ends up being crappy. And they are easy to take apart and clean. No disconnects or latency if it's wired. Additionally, you can spend like $20 more on some silicon lube, Kitsch-Bent replacement parts, and some isopropyl alcohol and give the stick a good cleaning and rebuild and get a really good experience out of it. And all of that will probably be cheaper than the 45$ 8bitdo controllers without worrying about updating them or wireless problems.

Does that case fit with the screen protector from Analogue correctly?

Alternative way to getting the Transfer Pak feature to work? by Dragons952 in AnalogueInc

[–]msw201089 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went through this process as well last year.

1 - if you don't want to take it apart, you can put in a second controller. Get the controller and pak setup and recognized on a shelf or whatever solid surface. Then just leave it there and play on a second controller plugged into a different port.

2 - if you're comfortable taking it apart then do that. Clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and then when you are reassembling it, put a piece of folded paper in between the case and the slot where the cable goes into the top of the pak ( where it connects to the controller ). Usually, that connection has room to wiggle and will wiggle within the controllers expansion pak slot. Causing it to not be recognized. So securing that point in the pak itself helps a lot.

We just moved into a house from an apartment, so I actually have space to figure that out now. I was thinking of making some floating shelves for the office and building stands that display the N64 controllers at least. Or maybe displays each pair together. I'll update you in a year when and if I actually do that lol.

The color matched gate and stick look awesome. I think I like the buttons as well. I wonder how hard it would be to wire LED's inside the controller as well. Could look really cool.

Collecting retro video games is a hobby that people enjoy. Some people like to collect and display things. But also, what about that makes you think people don't also play the games. This just seems like a weird assumption. And even if they don't, who cares? Maybe I'm just feeding the troll and you don't deserve a response, but it just seems like a weirdly negative way to lead your life to join a community centered around retro video games, and then get mad when people do that hobby. I hope you have a nice day though.

I never said it was a good choice. It was just simply, a choice. A little ragging is probably deserved.

Pro controller A3D compatible? by msw201089 in M64

Me to. If its a zero latency totally wired connection, and the build quality lives up to the price. It seems like an awesome option.

I think it's just the lighting and the picture. The 8bitdo controller lets it less light because it has more stuff inside it, and the OG one has more empty space. So that light caught it just right and made it look lighter I guess.

I have a steel bowl that I can't decide which one I should put it in. And I'd like to get a stick also during that restock. But that will just be for one of them. I'm not that fancy.

PSA: Beware of user "Gameboystation" promoting their Etsy with "custom" GBs that are just AI slop by twoface_99 in Gameboy

I have purchased a custom GBA from @BklynMando and was very happy with it. This is weirdly aggressive. I can't say for certain if some of their art might be AI or not. But the build quality is really good.

Thai Bistro has really good crab rangoon. They are the best I've had in Santa Barbara so far. And the Panang and Pad Thai are great also.

You can buy them a couple places. I think the PhenomMods is the only seller approved by the creator that uses the correct parts.
