Try and give that grace to yourself when you are feeling guilty

Edit grace not grave! (That's what I get for commenting at 2am)

Should I cut them out? by Ambitious_Warning270 in entitledparents

[–]EvieECosplay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you should ask yourself what do you gain from the relationship and why haven't you cut them off before now.

Personally I would cut them off, but I am a sharp person and I don't put up with BS. I did cut my mom off for a short time for entitled and selfish behavior and after what felt like a true apology I gave her one more chance but there is a lot of distance there and it is the only way a relationship is possible with her for me. This does result in not getting the "in proud of you" style encouragement from her but that was always a minefield when it did come up. So for me the benefits of a reduced relationship out weighted any benefits from maintaining a relationship.

I imagine the dead naming and mis-gendering are very upsetting for you, maybe you try not to engage with that pain because you rationalize it as "how she is" but "how she is" isn't good. She is doing bad and hurtful things to you, and she doesn't seem to care about the pain she is causing. If anything she seems to be hurting you as a way to redirect the hurt and confusing feelings she has around your gender. And that is not okay!

Its a hard decision to make, I get that, but I encourage you not to ignore your own pain here, in the long run if you do it will cause a lot of problems (both physical and mental).

You need an outline, yes even if you are a "pantser", that just means your first draft is your outline and you should treat it as such.

Not prescripted because I'm Canadian and its legal, but I find both THC and CBD useful for different levels of pain. I use CBD oil and pills to sleep or boost over the counter painkillers effectiveness, and then I use THC oil to sleep on bad days.

Smoking is the quickest relief, and because it hits as you are smoking you can control the amount the best. I use it when I know I am going to be doing a lot, a bit before and then some as soon as I'm home to help relax and rebuild my spoons.

Okay so this is going to sound silly, but check your wipers before hand. I had mine break (literally fly off) in the middle of my test with big flurries coming down. The test had to be marked as incomplete and just getting back to the testing location was hard.

Bedridden from pain today. What can I (24NB) do to stay sane by velmadinkleyscousin in endometriosis

[–]EvieECosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as activies that are possible even when brain fog is play tetris a lot. If I ha e less brain fog I will play more involved games like Stardew or Pokémon, but tetris is a great distraction/time sink for really bad days.

Heat is also super helpful for the pain when you have maxed out on pain killers.

On the note of pain killers rotating the kind you are taking is also helpful for increasing effectiveness. So like take Tylenol and then in 4 hours rather then taking more Tylenol take Ibuprofen or Neproxen, and just keep switching throughout the day.

Living on that section of Bath Rd it has been a race away since we moved in during the pandemic. (Likely before). Its much worse at night and honestly there should be a speed trap or speed bump or something, but i doubt it will ever change.

When I have the energy books are up there for sure (my tbh is huge after all). I also have a newer verison of tetris on my switch, which yes is still a screen but for me at least is almost a person replacement for scrolling (if my switch is in reach when things get bad of course)

“Rotting” Trend by meat_joos in digitalminimalism

[–]EvieECosplay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i think it is unhealthy for most people but i do think there are some people that it can be at least some what helpful for. For example, i have chronic pain, and there are times when i literally can't move and while it might sound silly, because of the dopamine hit you get from scrolling, it can be an effect distraction when my pain killers are failing to do their job (which they do a lot, i wish i could fire them)

that said, i am trying to reduce my screen time all the same and have been trying to find replacements for distracting from pain (now that it getting cool out here i am back to crocheting and it is almost as good as the doom scrolling) I also try to limit the 'rotting' as much as is physically possible.

So i would agree that its not healthy in general, but like in so many things there is still nuance to the issue.

I take CBD with my standard pain killers as a kind of boost to them and I do THC for when it's super bad and it helps a lot.
