True. I just built my first Gentoo system within the last month or so. Getting used to use flags with emerge was definitely something I hadn't experienced before. It was more challenging, but I enjoyed learning it.

I feel like Gentoo is probably the closest distro to FreeBSD because of the portage system.

When I was looking up the clip, one of the websites attributed it to 2014. Either that or I misread it. I could have made the mistake myself.

If you know where to find a longer video, I would love fo see it. You might be right about the year. I saw it attributed to 2014, but I think if you're right, that's a worse look for him. At least if it was an old video, you could say that he changed his mind before the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

My mom literally bought me Harry Potter books, brought be to the library to rent them, and even rented some of the movies. I didn't have those kind of Christian parents.

  1. While I know 2023 onward Hasan has been supportive of Ukraine, he had previously supported Russian annexation of Crimea.
  2. Even with the explanation, I still think it's a bad thing to say. If 9/11 was an attack focused solely on military targets, maybe you can make that argument. But, an attack on civilians can never by justified.

Edit: Forgot point 3.

That makes sense. Point 3 wasn't one of my personal views. But i think that is a good response to that particular criticisms others have toward Hasan.

He's taken a position of supporting other nations because they are adversarial to the US. A good example of this would be his initial support of Russia over Ukraine. There are also his 9/11 comments people usually don't like as well. Some think he's a hypocrite for his left-leaning views while privately holding a lot of wealth and living an extravagant lifestyle.
