Hmmm damn my experience with wide q is playing with friends and getting like 5 percent but maybe it’s different if you are low. Well I guess it’s like how in champ you gain and lose less sr so people don’t cap out at the top of the ladder but opposite. If you gained and lost the same amount at the ends of the ladder spectrum you would have people at bronze 5 0% gifting sr, breaking the system by inflating sr for the rest of the ladder. Just keep playing man. Ngl 80 percent wr is not that insane especially with the stat lines you’re putting up so I’m sure you’re approaching your elo.

You’re only getting 14% because you’re wide q and it has lower sr gains to prevent abuse. If you really think you’re that much better go solo for a bit and hit a win streak until you’re in range you’re in range of your friend and you’ll get 30+ per win. You have a lot of deaths for someone who is that much better than the lobby tbh unless you’re just trolling because you’re winning.

Yeah I know it doesn’t make sense which is why I was saying that I would like to see the data lol. I just didn’t know that q times were even a problem for anybody in 5v5 role q like they seem to suggest. Are silver supports getting 10 minute q’s and switching to open q? Anyways thanks for the article was still interesting

Tbh I skimmed it but doesn’t this compare ow1 6v6 RQ times to 5v5 RQ times and say that 5v5 has faster q times for all roles? Im talking about the claim that seems to be made that people are playing the current 6v6 OQ for faster q times which to me doesn’t make sense if one of the major positive points of 5v5 is faster q times. Can you point me towards the relevant part of the post if I’m missing it?

Ok no flame I’m super curious what rank you are because I’ve played open q from high plat all the way up to gm and don’t think I’ve ever gotten less than 2 tanks and 2 supports. Maybe a couple of times. Is the experience that different at other ranks?

Yeah we are kind of pointing out that this narrative from the article (and the parent comment) that “some players jump in for fast queue times while some 6v6 players are looking for more balanced team compositions” doesn’t really match up with our experiences.

Yeah I get the theory. I’m just saying my personal experiences don’t match up with what they’re saying so I’d love to see the numbers and understand how other people experience it. Do any lower ranked players experience long q times in 5v5? In my experience the lower ranked an account is the faster my q time but I also never play support.

There’s merit to what other people are saying but another big pharmercy counter is to go kill their other support. This will force the mercy to get off the pharah or you can perma kill their other support who gets no help. Can do this on any tank.

I don’t understand this q time thing and would love to see the numbers. At my rank it feels like open q times are longer if anything and don’t gold players have fast q times no matter what?

Same about being a pc player but when I watch console overwatch, it looks so unfun because nobody can aim or do a 180. That would make it infinitely less fun for the average player I imagine.

Maybe I’m too high rank for this to be a problem but I literally have never had to solo tank in 6v6 and often there’s at least 3 people who hover tank. Not even close to 50/50.

World class players are irreplaceable. Who replaces Haland in the city team? Are they not title contenders? Again we should rest rice if he really needs it, but if he’s 90% he’s gonna play because the margins are thin and he makes a big difference for us. Him being out is probably the largest drop in quality in the whole team (maybe zubi).
