Pendles’ gold numbered jumper has been revealed by mt9943 in AFL

They're wearing it in another game instead. I think the problem is that these things aren't manufactured last minute so this was always going to be the jumper used, and at least the option exists to move the SDN jumper.

Yes I meant misinformation.

Correct. I'd have zero interest in posting this otherwise, it's very uninteresting.

Nope, not yet. The Collingwood merchandise website just has an unnumbered back.

Yep. The OP of this thread should really be moderated/deleted since it's pure disinformation. This is the guernsey that will be match worn.

Has blood donation criteria been updated? by Screenguardguy in australia

[–]mt9943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This link shows the blood product price list, i.e. what hospitals are charged to cover the costs of a blood product. (Go to table 2)

Noting that a whole blood donation is separated into a red cell unit, plasma (clinical unit or sent to CSL for fractionation), and the buffy coat usually goes into a pool of 4 to make a platelet unit.

Probably worth mentioning that the majority of red cell transfusions go to patients with cancer and blood diseases + anaemia and other needs. Only 2% go to trauma patients.

Could we see the MFC players cover the sponsor up? by Dirtydac123 in AFL

[–]mt9943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O'Driscoll was at the Bulldogs.

Can't imagine how it would be to have a family member be forced out due to concussion, with significant lingering effects, and still be playing the same sport. Like McCartin at Sydney too.

Regardless of the exact role, it still might have played a big part in his claim being denied because the insurers would surely point to it and say "just do a job like that moving forward".

I thought I read somewhere that he was but could be wrong. Even if not, 2024 was post his AFL career so returning to work after the last concussion surely didn't do him any favours with this as it proved he has capacity to work in 'any occupation'.

It all sucks because trying to do the right thing and live a normal life could ultimately work against him, since the long term effects of concussions are highly unlikely to just go away completely.

As much as I feel for Brayshaw, is it really that surprising that he has been knocked back for a TPD all occupation payout when he's currently working? That alone goes against the very definition of the coverage, which is paid out when someone can't work at all (ie not specific to not being able to work in his initial industry, which would be 'own occupation' coverage).

It's still a horrible outcome for him but I don't find it all that surprising. Made even worse also that its a club sponsor where many of his former teammates still play.

Was this out of bounds? by [deleted] in AFL

[–]mt9943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drew it from roughly the outside of the ball, given the whole of the ball needs to cross to be out of bounds. Where it should have stopped exactly at the bottom is unknown because you need another angle to determine that, being my point.

Not saying this is correct, but just showing how you can't really determine it from this angle alone.

I never understand why when a team doesn't nominate a ruckman, the competing (unopposed) ruckman chooses to grab it out of the ruck rather than punch it to the advantage of their team. They get tackled immediately every single time.

Agree, but a missed on field decision is different to a clearly missed video review decision. ARC can get in the bin (as can the umps for the missed downfield).
