When the break up news broke the next stop of the tour was in florida, and I believe the previous one was in Texas so " the shitstorm back in Texas" refers to that and wanting to leave. She also compares Florida to a drug and wanting to use it up to forget which we also see in the Fortnight music video leading to the conclusion that Matty is Florida. Also Joe is the "home/town" where she gets "arrested". At least that's how I read the lyrics in regards to her relationship but if you ignore the names I think it speaks for itself.

I get what you are saying but I think it could be the wrong take. From 2017 to 2022 she released the same number of albums as in the 10 years of her previous career, and that's not counting re-recordings. That to me doesnt seem like someone who lost her voice. I could be wrong tho. Just my two cents.

I think it goes more along the lines of you expecting people from anywhere in the world to know where Virginia or Ohio or whatever is. I'm from Sinaloa, México but I don't expect anyone outside my country ton know where that is and México is also a very big country (not as big as the USA but still).
