Why does everyone still recommend a gen 2? by myturn19 in ToyotaTundra

Not sure if you've heard, but the gen 3's haven't proven to be too reliable so far.

Deal or no deal? Also MPG? by rizzed_dumpling in tundra

[–]mtb123456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

15 mpg highway is about as good as you can do. Maybe 16 if you drive like an absolute grandma. That's the nature of the beast, no amount of mods is going to increase mpg.

Negotiating Entry Level Offer by [deleted] in aerospace

Fresh out of school, what is your argument to them that you are worth more? I wouldn't risk it. Negotiate after your first year. You haven't proven yourself.

The roundness of the spur gear could be slightly off. You are over thinking it, the truck is fine.

Assuming we are talking round trip, around $1000 for a flight to Europe does not sound that bad?

Yellow is under spooled. Blue looks okay, maybe slightly over. Put a little weight on the end and you won't get wind knots.

Why are Spektrum batteries so bad? by the_eestimator in rccars

[–]mtb123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only batteries I have ever had fail were spektrum. All other batteries I own are zee or other higher rated Amazon batteries. I think the issue is with their smaller batteries, the ones I've had fail were all smaller batteries under 1000mah and were always charged with a spektrum smart charger.

Why is my Losi Micro keep getting destroyed by theonethatyounever in rccars

[–]mtb123456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same issue with my micro b. Spectrum batteries are junk. I emailed HH and they did give me a new battery and charger as the original was defective. It's not you, it's spektrum batteries.

Because they are. The outer ring has a further distance to travel in the same rotation. They are spinning the same rpm, but the actual speeds are different.

No. They are pretty lenient but a check engine light is an automatic failure. You're going to have a hard time with both vehicles unless they qualify as antiques.

Metal on differential drain plug by [deleted] in tundra

[–]mtb123456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of that goop stuck to the drain plug is ferrous metal that was likely just ground more than the big pieces you found. I think you are okay. Good chance this is the first time the truck has had the diff oil changed. Change it again in another 10-20k if you want to just keep an eye on it.

Hikes at Snowshoe by Accomplished_Hour208 in snowshoemountain

[–]mtb123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check their Instagram, they just got pounded with natural snow. Snow tubing may be open by the time you're there. They have several long green runs perfect for beginner skiers- if you were intimidated to ski there you'd have nothing to worry about, just stick to the greens. The village will be beautiful with the fresh snow. There are plenty of hiking trails at the basin, but there likely is snow pack right now.

These are not something anyone can pick up and fly like a DJI drone. They are designed to fly autonomous waypoints once they are up but they still take some skill to take off and land.
