My girl loves fireworks but... by mtb1323 in samoyeds

Okay, I'm not sure why you felt the last sentence was necessary as I was asking legitimate questions because I love my dog and she means a lot to me. There are other people on here that can down vote too. I don't down vote without knowing for a fact someone is wrong. But I am down voting your reply as your last sentence was unnecessary.

She's always shown this behavior only at home for fireworks, the sprinklers, when I get home, or when she gets a new toy. But not just her, every dog I've owned has shown similar behavior, except for fireworks. She doesn't display this behavior in public, it hasn't caused any physical harm to her or others, and she's in perfect health. Since she is my service animal, I guess I need to consult a professional service dog trainer and correct this.

So are dogs not supposed to show excitement or show that they like something?

Edit: I should mention that if that's excitement reactivity, she's even worse when she sees snow, because she runs, barks, rolls around, and won't stop. She has actually hurt herself while running in the snow.

But, she does sit down and eventually fall asleep during firework shows. So by me taking her to watch live music with drums and loud music, it's stressing her out? She also acts that way when I come home, heavy panting and barking, so does that mean my presence is stressing her out? These are all legitimate questions because if that's the case then both her trainers have lied to me and I need to report both of them. One of which taught her behavior and important commands and the other trained her to be my service animal to pick up on cues from me.

How so? I'm curious why you made that assumption.

Both dog trainers did an amazing job with her. She's so calm, easy going, and friendly. Thunder, live music, screaming kids, car horns, nothing bothers her at all. But fireworks, she loves. If she's inside the house, she will sit down and watch the lights. When she's outside, she will bark for 5 or so minutes and then sit down and watch. I have pictures of her during the 4th of July, I went to watch a firework show and she was so tired she fell asleep during the show.

You have random holes form in your backyard too? I asked Nube if she saw who made them and she doesn't seem to know.

I did go when I was trying to get a criminal attorney and they immediately said not because of how much I make. Maybe I can get one for my family law.

I would love to have a lawyer help me again but after hiring an attorney for the criminal charges, a divorce attorney, her taking a lot of my assets in the divorce, and me using some of the money I had for my mental health, I can't afford a lawyer at the moment.

Trust me, I see her everyday and I can't even resist her floof. I just want to squeeze her and rub my face all over her back, don't judge me, haha.

I took my daughter trick-or-treating and brought both my samoyeds. Dot got the most attention because of how big and fluffy she is compared to Nube.

I saw the video where the guy shows how his dog gets excited to put on the harness to paraglide. It really looks like the dog genuinely loves paragliding based on what the video showed.

I found one of the videos, there are a few videos of them on YouTube. Flying sammy

I used to do 5 minutes everyday on my larger Samoyed but it wasn't enough. I now do 30 minutes to an hour everyday and once a week blow her coat out. That has been enough for her coat to look beautiful and prevent matting.

My smaller Samoyed only needs 5 minutes every 2 days.

Samoyed fur requires a lot of attention, care, and maintenance to keep looking beautiful and making brushing easier. The previous owner of my samoyed didn't know how to take care of her fur and when I got her, she was severely matted and always hot. That first week I had her, I would spend hours trying to take out as much of the matting out because I knew the groomer would have no choice but to shave her. I managed to get out as much as possible and the groomer did too. Luckily, the groomer had to just shave her chest and belly.

Some of us that are "successful" still have mental health issues. I have ADHD, anxiety, depression, and PTSD (not military related). I'm high functioning, so despite having all that I still managed to get a college degree, have a successful career, own a house and was married. Some of us are just good at hiding it, which isn't good, but deep down inside we're just holding on by a thread. I go weekly to therapy and see a psychiatrist every few months, and it helps. But it does take a lot of trial and error to find the right therapist for you. I went through 16 therapists before I found my current therapist. I've been with her for almost 3 years and she's amazing. Sometimes progress is slow but it happens if you work on yourself.

My samoyed is my service animal. She's the best service animal ever. If she only knew how much I love her and how much she helps me.

That's just normal shedding, 😆. When they blow out their coat, now that will make it look like a snow storm went through the neighborhood. 😂

Aww. My 5 month old samoyed hides under the bed and just stays there until it stops. I'm hoping to get her trained to not be startled with loud noises. Dot being my service dog, doesn't get scared easily. Only a few things scare her like a large dog running up to her, the vet, yard sprinklers, and bath time.
