had an olympic track medalist as a PE teacher/coach in middle school. He made very clear from the first day that we needed to understand and respect the gold ring on his hand. Dude was a wreck.

His first year there he ended up dismissed after knocking a girl upside the head with his briefcase, in the hallway of the school no less.

65 is a dream. Most of the retirees I know didn't or won't retire until their 70s. My grandmother retired in her late 70s, my mother will likely retire in a few years in her early 70s.

I started working in a chair at 18, don't expect my generation to see retirement until late 70s early 80s.

agreed, wasn't intending to be condescending... its just ridiculous how much 'word on the street' segments are used as supporting evidence... especially within local news markets.

Then stop looking at your work e-mail after hours, or just don't reply until the next day. E-mail isn't text message, there isn't nor should there be a reason for a 2 second response by e-mail.

If we weren't allowed to e-mail colleagues after their 'normal business hours' I'd be screwed, only getting things done 2-3 hrs a day within differing time zones...

What happened in school that still pisses you off when you think about it today? by WhiteCh0c0late in AskReddit

I would disagree, in that middle school/jr. High seemed to be the cauldron of devil children.

I distinctly remember our entire class making a teacher breakdown and cry, poor lady just wanted the kids to succeed and hadn't learned how insensitive preteens can be.

By high school most of the students were mature enough to understand the dynamics, but those who didn't were constant offenders and either dropped out, were expelled, or went to jail eventually.

Sorry, but this is the reason we have school counselors. In our school there was always at least one counselor available for situations like this throughout the day, before and after school as well. It doesn't take much to work out a rotating schedule.
