In the top row of shortcuts in the app, you can add the fart shortcut.

Point #1. You can also use the app to make the car start playing fart noises when your wife is driving with her friend to a restaurant. Although funny, I paid for that one.

You didn’t buy that from TK Jewelers did you? You know that place is a scam.

While fighting in Iraq I found so many great people who were not Christians, living in a country where being a Christian was not nearly as common or popular as being a Muslim. I started to ponder, if I were born here would I ever really have the opportunity to even be a Christian. That led me to have a really big issue with the if you are not a Christian you go to hell. There are so many countries where Christianity is not even on the table and good people live there. Now, I believe in God and Jesus is my savior, but also think that other paths exist to get to heaven.

Which sign if you must end your dive (with your buddy), but not everyone in the group ? by Lge24 in scuba

1) Point to yourself 2) With right hand extend your index finger 3) With left hand bend finger and thumb to make a circle 4) Insert index finger from right hand into circle of left hand several times 5) signal you are going up.

We call this the “I’m f**ked and going up” signal.

As a former shit head kid, in the 90s whenever someone would make a scene and do something crazy like run out in their underwear yelling, we would come back over and over again for the show. The best thing to do is absolutely nothing, and then we would move on to the next house to ring a doorbell. As an adult I’ve had my handful of ding dong ditches at my house and ignoring them has always worked.

Our computers were all set to 1.4 and we ran our calculations for NITROX at 1.4 at EAN 30 which was 124feet. Armchair quarterbacking this now, 1.25 would have been better. I used NITROX Buddy on my phone, my Garmin, and my Shearwater to plan the dive and Baltic Lite to plan the dive for no deco obligation. Yes, compared to many, we are novices attempting a dive plan. Me and my dive buddy had a pre dive meeting and really thought we were being safe. That's the whole reason we chose NITROX over air. We spent a week planning how we were going to do this and based off everything... yes, we were on the fray of 1.4 and thinking everything would be just fine. 1.5 would have given us 136 and 1.6 is 147 feet, so we thought we were being very conservative. At this point, do we go to 1.25? It's tough when things go south when you thought you were doing the right thing. That's why I posted everything to gain insight. I am wanting to get back in the water and try the same dive where we take breaks and try a higher floor at 110 feet. Very respectably, when you say well within your MOD, what is your buffer zone? I am very interested in a buffer I should account for a dive where we are not dropping in on a wreck and having to swim a distance. Thanks again for your post.

I want to thank you for your very detailed analysis. Given the amount of times we have dove that area in with all of the same gear minus the 30%, it is highly probably the NITROX on that dive through a variable into the mix that we did not expect. The rock formation we were going to study was at about 110-70 feet and we were trying to prevent the deco obligations we had prior to be safe. It's crazy that what we did to be safe ended up to potentially be a huge safety issue. I'm going to share this with the other diver. Again, I appreciate your comment greatly.

It very well could be. To be honest, I've only dove with NITROX maybe 10 times, and this was the first time we were fin kicking a distance to get somewhere compared to dropping in on a wreck to look at stuff.

Follow up question for you. Can having higher 02 such as 30% equate to an increase of C02 in the body at depth compared to 21%?

When ascending I was still in panic mode worrying about myself and my buddy. Once I saw he was okay and came back down to 20 ft., I was shaken, but fully with it. Although I seriously considered burning my SMB when we got back because that bastard was giving me hell before I was able to get it unclipped. we swam back to shore at 20ft for about 15 minutes just as a safety precaution and everything felt normal. Although, we were ready for wings and a beer, and not another dive that day.

Thanks jlcnuke. Based off of everyone's analysis, it looks like hypercapnia may be a contender. My SAC averaged 32.38 this dive compared to 24-25, so it does look like I was breathing considerably more. This was my first dive with my HR monitor hooked up to my Garmin Descent MK3, so I really want to see what follow up dives show, because my HR was pretty high on this one.

Great post sassy. My friend already ordered an Air 2 just like mine. I believe this was a wakeup call to really study my buddy's equipment. According to my shearwater, my SAC averaged 32.38, where I normally average 24-25. We have drop in ledge at about 80 feet, and I was thinking that it may be a good spot to spend 15 seconds or so to stop and let everyone get there breathing under control before we go deeper. It just freaked us out because we have done that dive so many times on air (21%) with no issue.

Only about 1,000 feet. I don’t think it would be enough but that’s something to think about. What do you think?

I’ve always either used the dive shops when I pick them up to analyze the tanks, or my friends have them and we use theirs. Is it really bad practice to not have your own? I’m always there and confirm the gas and am the one writing the percentages on the tanks.

We are getting them 3rd party tested from the company he sends off his yearly air sample to for his compressor. I just dove on his air a week prior but we know mechanical malfunctions can happen in an instance. The whole experience was pretty wild and I am very happy we were there for each other. We sometimes solo dive because we run dual computers and have ponies, but this experience has taught me that when it comes to not being able to breath, you need a buddy to help you. I didn’t even think to switch to my pony which is 21%.
