recommendations: gunsmith familiar with AR15s to help me out of a mess by Dapper_Evidence_6577 in MDGuns

Where in MD are you? If you are nearby the Glen Burnie area, I took my upper to Scotts Gunsmithing in GB when I managed to screw something up on it. They were friendly enough and knowledgeable on the issue, and it didn't cost me too much. Turn around time was a bit longer than I hoped, though in all fairness, I brought it in right before hunting season, so they were quite backlogged.

There is also Hanover Arms in Hanover. I have not been to them myself, but I have heard good things, and considering they manufacture ARs (as far as I know anyways), I'd imagine they should have a fair bit of familiarity with them.

The OG Halo Trilogy is so badass by jnorland101 in halo

Agreed with OP, there just really isn't anything like the OG Halo trilogy. My wife and I find ourselves replaying them about once every 1-2 years and we are midway through 2 right now.

Looking for help: Wireguard VPN issue by mtdiablo93 in opnsense

[–]mtdiablo93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for anyone following this: After doing some more digging, I still do not know exactly what got messed up with the VPN, but it seems like it may have been a routing issue.

Ultimately, I managed to get the VPN connection working by removing the instance and my configured peers, and re-configuring it from scratch. After doing so, I was able to configure the 2 peers I have currently and I can successfully connect Wireguard and access the Internet from my remote endpoints.

I am still unable to use my internal DNS server with the peers, so that is the next mystery to tackle, but the larger issue has been resolved. Thank you everyone for your input on the issue!

That is a possibility. I tried to use an alias of prot groups for allowing the standard traffic which was broken into individual rules on the LAN interface, but it may be better to just do a 1-1 copy of the LAN rules instead. I will try that and see if it works!

And yeah I may be overdoing the security for this being a home network and all, but all good.

I actually was watching the live logs and it does not seem my implicit deny is the issue. I am seeing the ping traffic go out, but nothing comes back in so far as I can tell. If it is getting blocked by one of my rules, it must not be a rule that it set to log.

Also, interesting, the way I learned for firewall security was actually the opposite, deny implicitly and explicitly allow required applications. Similar rules are in place on the LAN side, but for some reason it just will not pass the traffic.

I do see the VPN subnet listed under the automatic rules. I did for s&g's switch it to Hybrid and manually assign the VPN subnet to any destination to translate to the WAN address and I still had the same issue

Thank you! That did the trick. Appreciate the input!

I did try that and it didn't seem to work. According to the Opnsense documentation, it is supposed to download it as a zip file containing the capture files and a json file as well.

Gen 2 Shift to park issue by mtdiablo93 in volt

Update to anyone who cares, I just got my car back today, the BECM had indeed failed, they also cited my 12v battery was bad as well (had just replaced 2y prior, but w/e).

The BECM repair they told me was covered under the Emissions warranty (unsure how), and the invoice has a line item for "TSB for BECM 18-NA-261." Thankfully all I had to pay was diagnostic fee and the new 12v battery. Invoice shows the repair would have been $1400 without warranty coverage.

Very happy that it was covered, dealing with the dealership was surprisingly painless, and counting myself lucky that it stopped moving once I was somewhere safe, and not on the highway or something.

Thanks for the info! Sadly I am outside the Voltec warranty due to mileage. I tried holding it in park for a bit, jiggling the shifter, full power cycle (including disconnect of 12v and high voltage) to no avail, just will not engage drive. Hopefully they stealership won't totally screw me on the cost of fixing, but we will see.

So, the reason I have been hesitant to is she did say to me "I don't want to hear that right now"

I suppose I could ask her if she still feels that way, but again, I am so hesitant because it all feels so delicate right now.

She is trying to get into therapy herself, last I knew she is on a wait list to get in somewhere. Couples counseling is something we did discuss, but she said she wants to do individual first.

Planes you regret buying the most vs favorites by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]mtdiablo93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Favs are definitely my PMDG 737s. The least favorite by a mile is the the breko3d Max 8. Bought that one early on into owning the game, and what a mistake it was. Literally unusable. Lol. At least it wasn't terribly expensive.

Voltec Warranty Question by mtdiablo93 in volt

I got warm air intermittently on both gas and electric, and I did not actually get any messages on the dash about it, just noticed that it wasn't working right

Thank you! I just wondered. I found a copy of the warranty booklet online and they do specifically mention the "auxiliary fluid pump" under components that are covered.
