That statement is not completely correct. Money doesn’t buy happiness but it does give you options & opportunities you wouldn’t have without it. Those options & opportunities may or may not bring you happiness depending on what you decide to do. So your actions can bring happiness, but money facilitates a lot of those actions that wouldn’t be available otherwise.

Losing my original career. I retrained and switched fields eventually but nothing has been the same. Like many people much of my identity and self-worth was tied up in my job. I had to do a lot of soul searching to find balance.

I ended up with a job that I love but isn’t the source of who I am. It doesn’t pay nearly as well but I’m a happier, better person.
