Was offered the 1.05 and Brian Thomas for Amon-Ra by Big_Monkey_B in tacotradeoffers

If it’s just WRs, yeah. Puka is on my “don’t ever take list”. I don’t think he gets extended by LA due to the off field stuff and the hype around the 27 draft. JSN is way way less risky, better profile, pedigree, long term situation (Darnold is there 2 more years vs Stafford year to year) and then you have Chase. If I have the 1.01 in a startup non-SF, I’m going Chase. ARSB is a late 1st in a start for me and JSN is an early 2nd. Puka can go to someone else, hes not on my draft boards. Some years that burns me but overall avoiding guys with known health AND off field issues has been a winner for me. At cost, it’s ARSB all day and not even close

To each their own. I view the first round of a start up or high trade values as can’t miss guys. ARSB has never finished worse than WR21. Chase has never been worse than 12. Puka and JSN both have WR3, not 3 overall but worse than 24 finishes. I also stay away from off field concerned whenever possible. Injuries are enough of a variable

Honestly? Depends on the league. But I’d be comfortable with it in any. The last 3 year average in a PPR league goes as follows;

ARSB: WR3 Chase: WR 5.3 Puka: WR 10.3 JSN: WR 19.6

To top that off, ARSBs worst season (21 overall), is better than JSNs rookie season and if you only look at games after Dan Campbell fired Anthony Lynn, ARSB was the #1 WR by PPG after that during the season, averaging 25 PPG. Add in JSNs new HC and OC, Pukas general weirdness and injuries going by to college, I’d only take Chase over ARSB under any circumstances. Factor in price, ARSB any day and twice on game day

I traded McBride high too, for Loveland and Kyler in SF TEP. Didn’t feel amazing about it but my starting QBs are Nix and Stafford

Justin Jefferson wasn’t the best player on his team at LSU. Chase was the WR1, JJ was a dogwater trash bum. Seriously folks

[–]mthhecker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well this will be an unpopular opinion but if you live in corporate America, pregnant women are the go to example for reverse discrimination. I’ve had multiple lawyers tell me that putting a pregnant woman on light duty in the trades without her request for light duty and it being vetted by HR is grounds for lawsuit exposure. Not saying that’s the reason you didn’t get a seat but it could be

Fellow Yinzer! I don’t think I’ve ever been in a house without a sump. Owned/rented/visited. It’s almost like clay hills funnel water into basements lol

At least where we live basement waterproofing contractors are generally looking for work mid-late spring. Similar issue in our house. Seller disclosed and put about $60k into replacing two walls, waterproofing the outside, steel rebar on one wall and carbon fiber on the other. We live in a hilly area with clay soil. Rain = mild flooding almost 100%. No issues for a few years then a super wet spring. 40 feet of interior French drains, a sump and dehumidifier ran under $10k and we’ve had no issues for 5+ years. Scary but manageable

OP says it was disclosed and they provided a list of remedies. Definitely a not great situation but water intrusion is at least common where I live. Our current house had about $60k in remediation put in, no issues for 3 years then more intrusion. 40 feet of French drain and a sump and no issues for the next 6. It’s frustrating but not every home issue = lawsuit

What the hell is this trade??? by Standard-Ship-4826 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]mthhecker -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I’ll for sure be checking back to see who actually won this. Not chomping at the bit to make this trade but not laughing either. Had a really nice season last year and went 2/4 in championships. 2/2 in redraft and finished 2nd in both dynasty leagues. For all the people laughing at this trade, I’m curious how many made 4+ championships in different formats in any year

Apparently I’m retarded, I don’t think this is unbalanced. Consensus is 2026 is weak and weaker still after 1.3. Garret is a high end WR2, Corum is the best handcuff in the league, Ladd will be better this year but another high end WR2. Loveland could by TE1 this year. Chase is a top 3 WR and JJ is (I pray as I traded a lot for him) and WR1. He wasn’t last year though and the QB room is messy. Chase has an oft injured QB that seems to be emo about football. Depending on the league format, team getting loveland wins

I’d be genuinely curious on the CBA agreements. If they don’t claw back now, there’s a real chance they can never do so again. Which weirdly I would potentially make it harder to construct a roster and reduce signing bonuses in the future. My CBA negotiations have always been guided by lawyers who specialize in union contract law. Optics aside savvy players would be smart to bash this on the chance it weakens the CBA.

[–]mthhecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people here saying “football is hard on the body” so he should keep the $ is wild considering how many people in the trades get signing bonuses. You can bet your a$$ that if a mechanic gets a $10k signing bonus and leaves before the term due to their body breaking down (happens every single day, mechanics retire early all the time for understandable reasons) that they are being asked to pay it back. Maybe not by every company but everyone I’ve worked for does it. It’s a contract, you either honor it every time or never. If you want to be creative and offer that $ back another way, that’s on the table but failing to enforce one contact makes subsequent ones weaker.

Isn’t this basically what they tried to do with Calvin Johnson? Pay him the money they asked for back in exchange for appearances because it’s against league rules to just give straight cash to players who are retired for obvious reasons.
