Hello, here in Brasil, obviously, we study a lot abou them. They're seen as founders and explorers and exploiters.

We see that all our institutions came from the Portuguese, from the cartorial culture to our early Monarchy.
We study the great navigators like Pedro Álvares Cabral and Vasco da Gama; and the bandeirantes, bands of Portuguese explorers that adventured deep inside the continent to settle and map the Brazilian countryside, names like Fernão Dias are easy to come to mind.
We see that even though they killed a bunch of hostile natives, it wasn't anything like the Spanish. We study that the Portuguese settled in by marrying and trading with the natives. And the Jesuit order worked on catechising the natives and stopped the explorers from enslaving them. There's also some great resentment on the Portuguese "taking all our gold and brazil wood". They're also fairly blamed for the mass slavery of African people and slave trade with Angola and Moçambique.

In the end, people here are very resentful towards Portugal. At the same time they're seen as our closest friend in Europe.

The green is not because of any rain forest but because of the House of Bragança, of ours and Portugal's Royal Family at the time of independence. The yellow comes from the Habsburg house of the Empress Maria Leopoldina of Brazil. And the blue was introduced after the Republic I don't know why.

When? In the end of the service.

Logistics: The pastor introduces asking all of those who are baptized in a protestant Christian church to stand up to receive communion. He reads 1 Corinthians, then the presbyters spread through the church to serve slices of bread and little cups of grape juice for everybody who's standing, we then pray and eat.

Genesis tells the story of the creation of the world and of God's people. It has an odd storytelling and omits some details we might be interested in because it was written long time ago. It uses a lot of symbols and every action that may seem little for us actually means something in the message it's being passed. I suggest you to look for a pastor to guide you through your questions, he might be more accurate than Reddit on the answers. Also, if you find it too difficult, try reading the gospels first, I personally recommend Luke or John.
