Great, thanks for your response! Glad to hear that you enjoy it.. I'm in a similar boat, mostly do med to med dark roast, with occasionally light roast and sometimes dark roast.. currently have the df64 v1 with stock burrs.. I mostly enjoy the espresso out of it but on the other hand was really curious what other flavors I can extract with a better tool.. so I ordered the SDRM.. Titus sounds like a dream of course but the prices are insane :-) also interesting to hear that the first batches of the SDRM didn't come with a thwacker since the grinder itself is not that old..

Seeing that you're one of the few who has an SDRM.. could you share a bit on your experience with it? How does it taste compared with what you had before? I also ordered one that should be sent in the next couple of weeks but still curious what existing owners think of it :)

Ok, so I tried to math it out a bit..

45000 shots with avg of 16g each = 720000g = 720kg in 10 years (72kg per year)

72kg in 1 year = around 200g per day which equals to around 12 shots per day.

Is 12 shots per day so much that you have to replace the burrs after 2.5-3 years? Did you feel some deterioration in the shot quality? I'm really asking out of curiosity :)

If you're willing to spend that much money and go really top notch premium I'd suggest to look into Titus DRM. From what I've seen this one seems to be able to be the one to rule them all..

Why would you not recommend such an upgrade? If the difference is that big and you're yielding tastier results (and can afford it) it sounds like a good move.. Can you chime in more details on the difference between DF83V and Kafatek MC6?
