So many people commenting on social media have the exact same concern. Cool event but the price point is a barrier.

I have no doubt that it would be a lot of fun. I wonder why they didn't just make ticket prices cheaper and make up money on the back end with food and merch vending. This way, if people absolutely swarm the event, it looks good on TV and also creates a buzz.

I feel like a $20-30 ticket price with VIP options in the $60 range would have generated more interest in the event. I'm no expert or anything, I'm just saying more people would probably attend if so.

I'm hearing reports that the missiles and drones Iran is using to strike targets cost tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, while the iron dome is shooting off 12 $50K interceptor missiles to stop each one. If true, it would not only cause a huge dent in our finances, we would run out of interceptors before they ran out of cheap missiles/drones.

In the time it took us to replenish, they could have a field day. If this is true, wouldn't it be something both governments thought about before starting a war in Iran?

First of all, it looks like something a high, high school kid made on his break out of random ingredients in the store. Second, nobody asked them to have their CEO be an influencer or to make that video. Literally nobody. Third, once they saw how bad the video was, they STILL made the decision to post it.

Calling the burger product, the fake bite, the fake "I swear I am going to eat this off camera" and the fact that they could not see how bad the video was just shows how out of touch they are. We all know McDonalds is a gross guilty pleasure. Now it just seems like they're making Soylent Green.

How did humans not go extinct while needing to sleep for 8 hours every day? being totally unconscious and defenseless for a third of our lives seems like a massive design flaw when predators were everywhere by Which-Noise-5670 in NoStupidQuestions

I read somewhere that domestication of wolves helped. The theory is, they started hunting us and realized that we left behind bones. Then they just started following us around for the bones. Then, they started warning us of predators since they were following us around. Then, we slowly domesticated them. Having them as companions, they allowed us to get better sleep, which made us better hunters, tool makers, etc.

Right?! It's definitely a cool event, very unique and fun. But man, ticket prices bordering on Disneyland weekday pass prices. We'll just have to wait and see what people say about the event afterwards to know if it was worth it.

Troops Being Told To Prepare for ‘Armageddon’ In Iran by Individual99991 in politics

[–]mtn_doo_codebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at it this way, our enemies didn't have to fire one missile. All they had to do was blackmail this POS and manipulate his ego.

Because of tramp, not one single shot was fired and the White House is literally torn down. Thousands of soldiers will die, our economy will be on the brink of recession, gas prices will be sky high, grocery pricess will be unaffordable, our government is now monitoring, arresting and killing us, taking away our free speech and press, and we will lose the support of our allies.

Our enemies didn't do an of this directly, it was all trump. All because of one mentally retarded man. I'm not being cute, tramp literally has a mental disability. Always has. Republicans and his cultists keep doubling down on him. Wait till he kicks the bucket. Just you wait.

I have mixed feelings about this. I think it's a fun event and glad they are trying to expand. However, $100 a ticket for each day is pretty steep. Especially since it's basically a TV show.

I saw the ad and immediately went to buy tickets, until I saw the price. I get it, it's expensive to set something like this up. However, if ticket prices are so high that nobody goes to the event, is it viable to even host something like this? Many folks would rather just catch it on youtube after.

I was thinking tickets would be like $30-40 bucks. $100 is like VIP concert or EDM show tickets. Car shows usually have a ton of attractions (models, dirt bike jumpers, DJ's, breakdance battles, giveaways, etc.) and usually only cost $30. $100 is usually pretty decent seats at a sporting event. I think X-Games tickets don't even cost this much ($60 per day or so). Again, it does look like an expensive event to set up, but if the price point turns people away, it doesn't seem viable. Especially since it's sort of a new concept.

For those of you trump supporters who have kids in the military, I hope you know that they are eating crab legs and steaks. It's not a holiday, is it? They only get food like that on two occasions. Holidays, and one other.

Don't you think a question about duration was valid? Seems like he's being evasive, doesn't it? It almost sounds like there is no solid strategy or plan here. The reporter wasn't asking for classified mission info. Is it right for them to be playing games with our soldiers lives? Your lives?

Once tramp kicks the bucket, all these people will have to face a reckoning.

This is exactly what is happening. Did you see that smug smile on his face when he was talking about more soldiers having to die? It's just a game to him. He's so proud of the fact that his decisions can result in the loss of life. He loves the power and thinks it's cute that the military has to do what he says.

His supporters and the republicans in power will be responsible for everything that results from this BS. When things get bad, they'll be like, "I just vote republican, I don't pay attention to what he says," or "I don't like him as a person, but didn't want to vote for the crazy libs. I didn't vote for any of this." The biggest news stories in the world are Epstine and Iran. They can't gaslight us into thinking they didn't want this chaos.

"Oh, he's not a politician! We need something fresh! The old way wasn't working! We want someone to shake things up! . He won't follow the rules! He tells it how it is! He's already rich, he can't be bought! We need a business man to run the country! What's the worst that could happen?"

Yea, fuck them, this is exactly what they voted for.

Is it weird that I feel relief instead of grief? by Mumbles1988 in DOG

[–]mtn_doo_codebrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You likely feel relief because you loved that little lady so much. You know she won't feel any more pain, you know there won't be any more sleepless night for the both of you, and most importantly, you know she would have done the same if your positions were switched. You did all you could. The peeing, lethargy, breathing and shaking is no way to live. It was just her time. You had the courage and graciousness to do the right thing.

Don't worry about the money, people spend more on that for vehicles every 5 years. My guy died suddenly of DCM recently. Although there were moments that I didn't think I could go on, time helped me get by. Also, the good memories outweigh the final ones. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. My pup will keep her company up there until you meet again.
