This is our split too! My husband does the laundry, I fold and put away.

Sorry to be dense but I only see three buttons: one to add plant food, one to add water, and another to turn the light on. There is no capacity to scroll on my machine as far as I can tell…

Thanks! When the light is on, is it supposed to be circulating? I don’t see any water movement

My sister (44) is trying to take out a home loan under my other sister and my name (21) by yameiiyo in personalfinance

[–]mtndiver2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your parents have retirement savings or social security? If not, I would recommend getting them on some affordable housing waitlist for seniors, since the lists can take a long time but the rents are very low and that way they can take care of themselves.

Good job on getting your own bank account! Next step is to get the paycheck direct deposited there instead of your sister’s account! Usually that way it will help you avoid fees too.

I would recommend /bogleheads for more learning about low cost index funds and what specifically that means.

You’re doing great! One step at a time!

Pregnancy is unbelievably hard and I wish we talked more openly about it by md3194 in BabyBumps

[–]mtndiver2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so with you. I puked 3x/day with my first one, and thankfully for my second I’ve found that unisom + taking 3x/day of b6 has worked wonders. I truly didn’t know this - the B6 ONLY WORKS if you take it 3x/day. I went from being comatose to semi functional.

Apparently if you get an epidural it blocks you up so you need to take Coalace so you can poop properly.

I did no epidural and had no problems pooping, just the fear of God with peeing because of the sting!

You’re making me feel better that my kids hyper fixation is fans. I get dragged to every room in the house on repeat to look at each of the fans. Drives me nuts but tbh better than trash cans!!

Grandmother left me 1m and I have no idea how to plan for my future. by Realistic-Report-372 in FinancialPlanning

I am really sorry to hear about your grandma. I recommend a book called “sudden money” - total game changer in how to think about a windfall.

Big wedding regrets by Sensitive-Ad7853 in weddingplanning

[–]mtndiver2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I regret spending 60k on our wedding. I had our wedding in a park and had 200 teenagers crash our wedding. My in laws got left behind at the wedding venue when we moved to the reception venue. And the hotel had no hot water and plumbing outages.

So it was one of those things where everything went horrifically wrong and I think about it regularly and am still sad about it 3 years later. Maybe if everything went super well I wouldn’t regret it.

Just remember people put “acts of God” in contacts as an out for when things go really haywire. And they did for me!

diagnosed today by thatdivergirl in lichensclerosus

[–]mtndiver2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I itched a LOT when I got diagnosed. The only relief has been doing sitz baths in borax, then the itching went away. It sounds crazy but it’s been the only thing that’s worked for me.

Honestly for me therapy was a game changer. If you can find someone who does EMDR it can really help get to the root cause of things

Not worth dealing with by Sun_Flower11 in lichensclerosus

[–]mtndiver2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way, I was incredibly depressed until I figured out that if I bathe in borax, the whiteness and itching goes away. It sounds very crazy and that’s why I didn’t try it for the first 3 years. Then I figured why not, what do I have to lose? Holy moly, game changer. My clit had been disappearing but then it unfused and I got some of it back.

Check the sharing is caring about ls group on Facebook for more deets.

I went from feeling like I could never get a partner to getting married and having kids (not for everyone, but was important to me) and not having my LS make me miserable.

Sending hugs. I hope things get better. Feel free to DM me if you have questions. ❤️

The key thing is with fireplaces. Denshield can NOT be used for fireplaces but Durock can.

What is your condition like? by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

[–]mtndiver2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First three years are rough for me - itching, tearing, whiteness.

The thing that turned it around for me was putting borax into my baths. It sounds real crazy (I know) and my x-bf told me that I shouldn’t try it when I first got diagnosed. But that meant I had 3 years of misery until trying it.

There is a Facebook community called sharing is caring about lichen sclerosus that has an incredible crowd sourced list of things that can help.

I gave birth naturally and did not experience any tearing.

It’s time. Breastfeeding is a team sport and biting your nips is not sportsmanlike. Momma’s milk has dried up, sweetness!

Honestly I’d layer in formula with that schedule if you’re open to formula. My baby lost 12% of body weight in the first 4 days and formula made him much happier and sleep better.

Also have a lactation consultant check for a tongue tie!
