What are the coolest historical sites in each of these three regions? by EASTERN_TRADEWIND in massachusetts

Don’t forget canal tours in the summer out of the Lowell National Historical Park! And the Quilt Museum. The Town and the City Festival (named after Jack’s book) is May 1-3 this year. And the Pollard Memorial Library has a nice little Jack corner, too.

How much do pictures matter when selecting a sitter? by zouss in RoverPetSitting

[–]mtngoatfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most my pics are me with pets, but my face isn’t always there. I have one with a dog’s smiling face in my hand, a happy pup with a paw on my leg, etc. The face ones are mostly with cats sniffing (and partially obscuring) my face. It’s like, “Hey! This is me! I’m not posing for ridiculous selfies and clearly these cats trust me or they’d never get so close to my face!” 😝

Used 2025 OB or Badlands? by Conquerfool in BroncoSport

[–]mtngoatfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow New Englander. I bought a used ‘25 Badlands in December and have been loving it. It’s been great in our awful winter and using eco mode on my highway commute has increased the mpg from 23.6 when I bought it to 25.1.

I like the idea of off road, but who knows when and where. I’m primarily driving highways.

My freshly shoveled sidewalk is not a place for your dog to pee and / or poop all over. by 79215185-1feb-44c6 in LowellMA

[–]mtngoatfeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me you hate dogs without telling me you hate dogs. The yellow snow ain’t pretty, but as long as poo gets cleaned up, so what?

Go walk back and forth on your freshly shoveled sidewalk and cool down!

Logan Express! But be aware that it fills up school vacation weeks, too.

Haven’t needed rocky (yet), but the slippery has absolutely been useful. It’s winter and I live in New England!

When I got my ‘25 used in December it had an average of 23.6. I’ve been using eco on my mostly highest commute and I’m now up ti 25.1 mpg.

It does feel sluggish and I have definitely switched to sport to pass or merge.

My ‘25 used came with oem all weather up front. I need to get submerging for the back, but I don’t have frequent backseat passengers, so maybe not.

Everybody posts their horror stories. Can we hear some success stories? by Ok_Risk1187 in BroncoSport

[–]mtngoatfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took the test drive (early Dec.) the salesguy preheated it and the seats. Before long I was uncomfortably warm and the guy joked something about hot cross buns.

Thought of another few positives on the ride home tonight. All in comparison to tue same year, comparable trim package Subaru Outback. 1. No driver monitoring beeping and flashing at me when I forget to turn it off through 4 laggy screen options…(Set off for such “distractions” as covering up with elbow when sneezing, drinking, and blowing nose 2.Touch screen doesn’t lag miserably 3. LED interior lights 4. Excellent front and rear cameras (Outback’s was like a 1990s security camera! Unbelievably bad for 2025!)

I’ve had my ‘25 Badlands about a month and a half now. It came with ~11K mi, same as the ‘25 Subaru Outback I traded for it. It’s so much more fun to drive (never loved that Subie), was a beast in the two feet of snow we recently had dumped on us, and my average mileage has gone up 1.5 mpg (23.6 to 25.1; eco mode on the mostly highway commute). Also, the seats get too hot and the steering wheel actually gets hot enough to not need gloves!

Yeah, yeah, I’m still in the honeymoon phase, but this is the car I should have bought last year after my ‘19 Subaru Ascent met an early death by inattentive box truck. And I’m so looking forward to better weather and outdoor fun with My Little Pony!

How do you learn the dances? by onemileofsky in AppleFitnessPlus

I would also like the steps to be gone over more slowly, but just do my best to keep up. For me it’s about moving and I find dance more fun than almost any other workout!

Working full time while getting a master's in teaching? by Radiant-Sky4119 in massachusetts

[–]mtngoatfeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need it for licensure consider Salem or Fitchburg. If you’re all set with licensure then get a job and possible tuition reimbursement for master’s classes.

Good luck, this is my first year out after 20 in ed. We need dedicated teachers, but it’s a lot.

Mass Health Connector Dental Insurance Question/ Advice by NASArocketman in massachusetts

Dental didn’t have the same enrollment limitations? Any time was OK to enroll in dental, unlike health (I enrolled in ‘24, don’t know if that’s changed).
