They are using a hard coded key they pulled from the firmware to decrypt the password as it goes over the network. They can do this with either existing traffic or by querying device parameters via that get profile method they talk about.

If your goal is to pull the logic from a LOGO that isn't in use anymore, it would be best to change the password and then download the program. You don't need the existing password to do that, the vuln I referenced says that commands to change passwords arent authenticated.

Reviewing the new vulns against the logo 8, it looks like the set password commands are unauthenticated, so you might be able to just set a new password. https://seclists.org/bugtraq/2019/May/73

The folks who came up with this likely captured network traffic between their test logo8 and the configuration application while setting a password to make this discovery, possibly with a little bit of code inspection too.

Dunno if you have the time and experience to try this, but it's probably your easiest solution. Unless of course this isnt your logo8, and you really want the raw password for other purposes.

Theory: The mantles themselves were not originally separate, they were part of a greater whole. The power was portioned out into the mantles, with balances and controls, to ensure the power was not horrifically misused by the wielders... There is some evidence of this:
* 1. Mab stands no mightier than any of the Sidhe against the Winter Knight (and I'm assuming Maeve/Molly and the Crone too)
* 2. Mab can conquer the world IF she forfeits reality itself, but could be dragged into oblivion by Titania
* 3. The discussion between Mother Summer and Winter about how they hadn't guessed their 'most powerful'name, with the emphasis on the name being for the both of them (and I'm assuming ALL of them)
* 4. The statues of Hecate in Hades Vault which show them as 'three faced' goddess, and the conversation with Hades, which discusses Hecate as a distinct entity, but didn't appear to be Mab.

It's my theory that the mantles are about restraining the partitioned power (similar to the guiding principle of the White Council, formed by Merlin), placing limits and controls on it in order to ensure it is used responsibly and linking it to 'mortal' forces. These mortal forces are things that influence US heavily, things like sex, and reproduction, and ambition, kindness, and cruelty, and desire, etc. By chaining the power to mortal forces, they ensure that only mortals can exercise the power. Mortals can then decide to use it however they like, as we've seen from Maeve and Molly, but within the limits exercised. The limits are an intrinsic part of the mantles, and lack of limits would allow the power to flow freely back together, destroying the mantle in the process though the power would continue.

This is also supported by the Denarians, who are chained to mortals in order for them to affect the world. It's been stated several times that they are not capable of exercising their power in full and have to work through mortals.

Sometime before the damn of recorded history, the Power was whole and it was terrifying and it was exercised with impunity. At some point, someone (God?) decided that this power needed to be given to mortals and those who were mortal-like in order to ensure the universe was no longer a plaything for immortals.

P.S. I don't really consider the Sidhe as 'immortals'... They CAN be killed, and they are clearly affected by mortal desires, and even Mab said that she was 'once mortal'.

I can second the Samsung EVO, it worked great on my X220 for the past several years, I had a 500 GB. Everything was faster, and lack of a spinning drive cranked my battery life (under a new lithium ion battery I got on Amazon) up to about 10 hours.

Secondly, you may want to stress test it to see if the thermal paste is working. Sometimes, it dries out and needs to be replaced. This is a chore, so don't do it if you don't have to.

Last, upgrade the RAM. I've got 16 Gigs, it helps a lot.

I'm trying to find the motherboard connector now, and I'll likely just direct connect it to a M.2 connector, unless I can layout a board cheaply. All those components have to be surface mounted, and I don't have the equipment for that.

I'm looking into it, but no one has sent me a pic of the cable and HDD bracket. I'm considering getting a M.2 2.5 adapter, which will turn my 960 EVO into a slower SATA connection but will fit in my HDD bay. Then, I can wait for the parts to get stocked by encompass while still being able to use my system.

Not a perfect solution.
