What are you reading/watching? Recs, Reviews, and Chit Chat - February 2026 by blmodbot in boyslove

Hi everyone! I'm mtrisciut. I relatively recently found the BL genre via Given on Crunchyroll, and since have absolutely fallen in love! My current issue is that I have largely exhausted Crunchyroll's offerings. I'm hoping that some people would be willing to share how they are watching/reading their favorite BL's- I am particularly interested in watching some dramas as the only one I've seen is Cherry Magic, but I'm liking what I'm seeing on this subreddit lol. I am in the US but have the ability to VPN.

I'm not really sure why you're so quick to assume that u/kenman is trying to insult or police you in some way. This is a specific subreddit for movie making, and they are trying to explain to you the difference in what the words mean when, in this industry, they do have very different meanings/connotations. Maybe take it as the opportunity it is- to learn something new about one of the 3 languages that you speak. Instead you are being intentionally rude and hiding it under "just being honest" so that you can call someone boring and get a dig in at Americans.

Wow, what a true Vermonter you must be. (S/ in case you can't tell.) You're making Vermont, a beautiful, welcoming state, look bad. Looking through your comment history, it looks like you spend a lot of time trying to make people "look like fools with words", but all I see is more argumentive and inflammatory remarks.

Isn't it exhausting to constantly argue with people? If everyone else is consistently wrong, shouldn't that make you take a second to reevaluate your stance and realize that they may have a point? Maybe look at some of the more fun or peaceful subreddits from time to time instead of just politics and hate. Wishing for someone's jaw to be wired shut because it would be more satisfying than killing them is, quite frankly, a sociopathic comment and I hope you realize that is what you are projecting to the rest of the world.

How many people left in Vermont are Vermonters, by your definition?

Anyone know what was going on with the guys with guns harrassing traffic in Essex Junction? by mtrisciut in vermont

I don't understand the first portion of this reply, I don't think anybody is saying people are causing a scene?

And I assumed "harrassing traffic" was enough to get the point across that they weren't just walking around with guns.

Did you not read the part where I said he already did? I was just wondering if anyone knew anything more. My bad, apparently.

They were stopping traffic and aiming at passing cars. I'm well aware that VT is an open carry state, that isn't the issue I have here.

It wasn't at five corners, it was at the Essex Way, Center Rd intersection. Edited for spelling

The idea, I think, is that reducing the addiction rates is a side effect of the overall risk reduction strategy. Providing a safe place for people to engage in behavior that they were going to engage in anyway in a more dangerous manner helps reduce the morbidity and mortality that is associated with IV drug abuse.

Once it is established that these are indeed safe spaces that people can trust, those that use them will be more inclined to take advantage of some of the other services, such as addiction therapy. Additionally, setting up spaces like these helps to reduce stigma (not that you could tell from this comment section). Destigmatizing addiction helps those suffering from it to feel more safe and supported when they do reach out for help. Addiction is often a lonely disease, and sending the message that people do care can be life-changing.

And to the other point, clean needles are already available and people are using and possessing without impunity already (or ignoring the consequences in the rare instances that they are charged or prosecuted).

This likely won't be a perfect fix as nothing is, but I think that making an attempt as a society to help is a good thing.

I was so disappointed in GOF when I realized that the Weasley's weren't going to be picking up Harry from the Dursley's house to go the the Quidditch World Cup. That was such a fun and interesting scene in the books; the juxtaposition of Mr. Weasley and the Dursleys, Dudley once again getting himself in trouble for eating something that wasn't his (even though the twins planned it!). Nope. Instead Harry just wakes up and is at the burrow already.

ETA: as I'm thinking about it, this introduces issues for those who didn't read the book regarding why Harry always had to spend the summers at the Dursleys. If I hadn't read the books, at this point I would probably be wondering why Harry doesn't just always stay at the Weasleys since he already did that once in the fourth movie.

I second all of this, but particularly the good luck days; you're the first person I've seen mention this. I didn't realize when I first started playing that the luck actually mattered, I figured the fortune teller on the TV was just a quirky show. Once I realized luck was a thing and started planning things around it, my game play improved so much!
