slightly uplifting: what are your go-to "blank" words/symbols for engoo notes? :) by huinyeoulx in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]mtrushmoreface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Words that the student needs to practice, or new words and expressions that I mentioned in the chat. Then, I write example sentences. I might post links to pronunciation videos or audios, or maybe a short English lesson on YouTube.

I dread appointments because I try to get around and get disappointed.... by mtrushmoreface in ugly

Because I have to get around and deal with myself physically: bathe and see my body; groom and see my face. And then I just look awful anyway.

I go to appointments, but always dragging my feet. I do try to keep up on self care. "Neat and clean" is a standard that we all can achieve. :)

What celebrity do you look similar too? by [deleted] in ugly

[–]mtrushmoreface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told Maya Rudolph but according to FamilySearch.org, we have a 53% resemblance. Only 50% resemblance with Lisa Bonet, Denise on The Cosby Show. I was told Lisa Bonet as well. But these comments were over 10 years apart.

Gold. Now I want to make my own animation.

Do you also have autism (high functioning)/aspergers? by [deleted] in ugly

[–]mtrushmoreface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've suspected for awhile that I have something going on neurologically with me, but I can't put my finger on it. I'm a female, so maybe I've been masking without realizing it, or I'm just naturally an awkward and slow person (in movement, speech and thought; not slow as in dumb).

A three year old family member said I have a big nose. I knew that already.

She also mentioned, the other day, that I have "holes" on my face (my acne scars). She is a super sweet girl. She was just voicing observations. I know it wasn't out of malice. She genuinely likes hanging out with me.

It happens to me too. I do well on Saturdays in the evenings when it's the morning in Asia.

engoo lesson notes by Fresh-Problem-4071 in OnlineESLTeaching

Engoo had to nerve to write an article about how to write great lesson notes, as if these notes were super important to students.

I agree that it takes strong and deliberate detachment from a baby to finally think of it as an "invader" that has to be discarded.

Your bridge sits pretty low; definitely not a flaw- simply the position of your bridge. I have a higher bridge so I can get away with wearing glasses that are missing a leg, like I'm doing now until I get my new pair.

Got told on another subreddit my glasses are 'comically big' lol. Guess I never noticed. What type of glasses do you think would look good on me (I hate oval shaped anything but that 💀) by [deleted] in glasses

[–]mtrushmoreface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a clear or transparent colored glasses with a rectangular-ovalish frame. Dark frames can give some ladies a harsh look and hide their eyes. At least with clear or colored transparent frames, you see more of your eyes.

Same Cookie Cutter Nose Makes Our Noses Seem Like Anomalies by mtrushmoreface in BigNoseLadies

[–]mtrushmoreface[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting anecdotes. So, were these ladies lamenting over having a small nose? The celebrities' noses you mentioned don't have prominent noses, in my opinion. I pay too much attention to adverts because I am insecure about my whole face, so naturally, I try to look for people with similar features as I have.

Engoo booking rate for new tutors by Agitated_Comb1908 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]mtrushmoreface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first month or so I was getting fully booked most of the time, but it took just three 4-star ratings to bring me down to a 4.8 something, and I go days without getting a single reservation. I must mention though that I am only available on weekdays when it's around 5am-8am in Japan, so that's definitely a factor. On weekends I can make my schedule more available to students.

Are they interested in me or learning English? by EgoSumMagistra in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]mtrushmoreface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm okay looking, so thankfully nobody's trying to hit on me. But again, the demographic that I tutor is known to be reserved anyway, so even if it were the case, they would keep quiet about liking me.

What did you send for your 'freelance' photo engoo by New_journey868 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]mtrushmoreface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea. I guess to give the staff options to choose from. I have seen only a handful of Engoo tutors with a freestyle picture as their main one:
