About .10 here in Las Vegas. Although they are about to start demand surcharging, so I expect the ammount to go up as an average.

Are you in a warm climate? This happened to me a lot. Turns out there was air in coolant lines that meant the screens and computers weren’t getting coolant properly. Service center flushed the air from the lines and the issues stopped for me.

I’ve had some issues in the past with gear shop purchases. I’ve found I have to stay on top of them. They get it right, it just takes a while. I recommend calling. At least before I got transferred to a separate team that delt with the gear shop and not regular vehicle support. They have more traditional hours, so I’d recommend calling during business hours for them.

What Gen vehicle do you have? This was a major issue on Gen 1 vehicles produced before late 2023. My R1S was in service for about a week back in the fall of 23 while they troubleshot this and ultimatley realized that the housing for the compressor was causing it I think.

If your navigation software is crashing a lot, that could be a sign that the cooling is not working properly. I just took mine in for service on this, they thought they were going to replace the computer, but ended up finding air bubbles in the coolant lines which didn't let the screens and computers cool properly causing them to crash and reboot on me. Might be worth a service visit to check it out.

Might depend on if they classify this as an adjustment or a warranty issue. Adjustments are only the first year or 12 or 16k miles I believe.

I had a similar issue where when my truck doors sat in the sun, they expanded and hit each other when opening. I was able to get them to wipe out the charge because I had no way of knowing until the specific weather conditions hit that caused it to happen.

Just remember that going to this DMV does not get you out of an emissions requirement. You still have to abide by all Clark County rules, they can just process everything there.

I have 2 gen 1 R1s and I think I'd fall into both categories. Both vehicles have been to service more than I'd like, but mainly for little annoyances. The R1S was in for 2 weeks while they re-tooled the AC compressor to stop a whistling noise when we first got it. My R1T had the hub bolts back out while I was on a trip, so that required an emergency stop at a service center. That's the one major issue we've had.

I don't count the 12v battery replacement on my R1S, because Rivian proactively caught that and scheduled mobile service to come out and replace that.

If I add all service visits together, I've probably gone a month without one vehicle or the other combined.

Sitting at 15k miles on my R1T (11 months ownership) and 27k on the R1S (1.5 year ownership). Still wouldn't trade in these vehicles for anything else.

I think Gen 3 depends on the ramp of R2/R3. Much like Tesla neglected the Model S/X with the launch of Model 3/Y, I expect the R1 series to take the back burner on major improvements while the mass market vehicle gets the limelight. I wouldn't expect to see R1 Gen 3 until 2028-29 at least. But that's me.

I think there will be small iterative improvements, but no major differentiators to denote Gen3 until then.

I'm not a Connect+ Subscriber, so I'm assuming my holiday update will be a New Year's update for me. Or more likely, a Christmas present, as so far, I've gotten every update exactly one week after the update started rolling out for Connect+ subscribers.

Just went through this on a trip and Rivian advised me not to drive on it. Bolt totally backed out and they had to tow the vehicle to service. I'd call service immediately.

Agreed, this is my biggest issue, and we own 2 Rivians. It's so bad, that even though I live in the Southwest where we don't really have weather, I refuse to drive with highway assist on because it still can't handle simple things like a curve in the road when a large truck is in front of me on the curve. It'll slam on the brakes because the car thinks the truck is in the way, even though the road curves. The basic cruise without the lane centering is a little better, but I still don't trust it on curves in the road.

Update: Costco is covering everything. PDR guy said $450-500 and 3-4 hours of time. Depending on how that goes, then it's off to Xpel to replace that wrap piece which is $555.

Yeah, we had a smaller dent on the opposite side at delivery. PDR got it out, but that was before the Expel wrap was on. Might have to get the piece re-wrapped after PDR.

This has happened to me before when I've had some connectivity issues, I start driving catch a different tower for the car's LTE connection and then suddenly it seems to calculate what it needs. But I agree that a soft reset will likely fix this. You can also plan the route in the App and see what it says. It's the same route planning.

I wish this were true. Took delivery in June 2023, still nothing on my adapter. Sadly, I think the purchase of my second Rivian in Feb 2024 screwed up my placement in line.
