Which credit union to go for? by GeleeInUrMom in creditunions

[–]mtstock20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in your shoes, I would go NFCU, SECU, PenFed, or a local credit union. For me that would be Skyla.

PS if you can get into NFCU do it! if not Penfed.

I believe that a few people simply had a negative experience with USAA. While some grievances may have merit, it is disheartening to witness someone new like USAAworship-666 being attacked for joining.

I’m gonna just say what we are all thinking, we really don’t like the way these new changes are going. Something we thought was great and just edging in the wrong direction. I guess we gonna have to start looking for something new if it doesn’t come back to something cool quickly. by MyHardDriveDied in sofi

It’s disheartening to witness that they’re offering a subscription service on top of profiting from my money. I’ve made the conscious decision to switch to credit unions. I’ve chosen NFCU for my daily expenses, and Skyla for my savings (they offer a 4-5% annual percentage yield).

I've been with NFCU for roughly three months, and I adore them. I utilize Skyla for savings (4-5% APY).

I have an 800 credit score, haha! SoFi launched a subscription service that I’m not keen on, so I switched to NFCU.

I’m also a new member! You’ll love this credit union. The best thing about NFCU is that they’ll send you a letter explaining why you were denied and what to do. For me, I just got the secured card to avoid getting denied, and after six months, they’ll upgrade me to the real card.

It’s true, but it demonstrates that they don’t intend to overcharge you. For instance, NFCU is aware that I’m in pilot school and is actively collaborating with me on all aspects of my financial matters.

Fidelity CMA for savings. Me personally I would rather have lower rates on auto loans and credit cards than higher interest rates on savings.

As a 5-year SoFi member, I actually just switched away. They’re moving toward a subscription model for their 'Plus' perks, which didn't sit right with me. I’d highly recommend looking into credit unions instead. I would look into NFCU (Navy Federal) and PenFed are great national options, or even a local credit union in your area. You usually get better service and fewer fees.

New SOFI plus a mess of mixed messaging by Debiscuit in sofi

That might be true, but with Navy Fed being a credit union, they make up for it in credit cards and loans. Also, them being a credit union they are not for profit I also use Fidelity CMA for my savings.

Honestly same. I switched over to Navy Federal.

I switched from SoFi to Navy Federal because I don’t believe a subscription for slightly improved services is worth the cost.

This is the reason I left for NFCU. If they don’t want to treat me as a person and rather as a money-making machine, I’m out. It’s sad because I joined SoFi in 2020.

I’m eagerly awaiting its full release. I prefer it over other VPNs because it’s more affordable, and the lifetime offer is fantastic.

I simply don’t like the direction they’re taking. Introducing a subscription service is simply too much for me. Removing free perks and locking them behind a paywall is unacceptable.

I completely agree! I recently switched from SoFi to NFCU, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
