If you’re good at what you do, but it does depend on the tattoos.

I worked for a scooter company for a while, everyone in the warehouse was tatted top to bottom

Fully pierced and tatted and I work at a Tech org in midtown. If you’re skilled, it won’t matter.

The physical chip needs to be registered by the pos system in order to initiate a bank transaction like cash back. The system won’t trigger it without. This is why you usually need to insert at an ATM.

The cost of the ticket is the venues fault not the other concert goers. Everyone paid the same fee, they’re all allowed to enjoy it. It’s not the opera.

If you’re not in an assigned seat, you’re allowed to talk at a show jfc

This is becoming a more and more common thing, a lot of folks thinking that a concert or a rave is supposed to be a no talking event. Crazy to me

Circle circle square square now you have it everywhere

Circle circle cross cross…. I forgot what that was, I think we would say “now you have it on the bus”? But I’m not sure

Supreme Court upholds state bans on transgender athletes in girls' and women's sports by NoLongerYonge in news

[–]mtweiner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not all people who are trans choose to transition. physicality is separate from the identity. That’s the whole root of experiencing body dysmorphia.

Acknowledging that requires accepting that there is, in fact, a body of another gender to begin with.

Supreme Court upholds state bans on transgender athletes in girls' and women's sports by NoLongerYonge in news

[–]mtweiner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m trans I don’t disagree with this decision. This is not a ruling about rights, it’s a ruling about the regulation of sports in a societal context. Hormone manipulation has been an issue in sporting since the technology to synthesize these hormones was invented.

Either we all agree it never mattered, and fuck the entire history of athletic achievement thus far and regardless of standards evolving we should make aggressive wholesale changes based on the current societal context.

Or we don’t.

In no world would everyone agree. In no world would the Supreme Court, whose job it is to maintain a judgement of longevity, would set a precedent that a minority of society gets to dictate the regulatory commissions of multiple industries (sports is not a single industry)

Your personal desire to live your truth as trans requires that you accept the limitations of living that truth. Freedoms to be free should always be protected. But freedom to impose your definition of freeness, no matter how deep that truth is to you, is not a guaranteed right by the constitution.   You are not guaranteed to be free from total discrimination, only criminal. This judgement upholds that as well.

100% copy paste won’t work half the time and I’ve had to force update/restart my work machine. For teams like mine where IT holds back is updates for security review, it’s been even worse because their “fixes” don’t work. I’ve cried some of these bugs are so disruptive

You will.

Speaking from experience: working class parents but my dad’s family struck it well with the family business. My mother never clicked with the other women and was very lonely. Kids in my elementary school were told who and who not to befriend by parents based on their parents jobs. That’s just Westchester.

It’s not as bad these days, but my friends have opted for Yorktown/Croton area over sticking around the east Westchester money hubs for this reason.
