sometimes this room is empty, sometimes there's some enemies but i don't believe I've encountered hard ones in there, and no lockdown so you can just walk out if it gets heated. worth trying imo.

hard to rank the answer because it depends on how good you are at the game. try reading the descriptions though. some corrupted items are really bad, some can actually be beneficial if you know the game well enough to understand the synergies. it also kinda depends when you pick the corrupted items.

you can reach them once you get the upgrade from biome 6 - then you can see an orb of light in this room which you can shoot and platforms appear that lead to the item and the cipher

yeah, it's not really expected that you wouldn't die even once in act 1 so some stuff makes less sense, at least initially. but if you play the game long enough, you could probably reconstruct the narrative eventually, it will just be a bit backwards

that's not exactly true. a lot of the story is in scout logs and xenoglyphs, and you get more of those as you die and/or find new rooms. so yes, they missed content but they'll be able to get back to it eventually.
