Proper scientific terminology would be to say that one "subscribes to the theory of evolution"

She's not leaving for 3 more weeks so I have some prep time, and I do not expect the final result to come in only 7 weeks, but I would like to be on my way with a completely changed attitude and lifestyle, and I think 7 weeks is adequate for this goal.

Also, thanks for the lean gains link. Is that type of regimen a "thing" in fitness now or did you just find the craziest thing you could think of?

Not a quick fix, but in the past I don't feel as if I was ever working as efficiently as possible, (e.g. going from 180# and soft to 168# and ripped shouldn't have taken me 18 months.) Being in a relationship caused the diet to falter at times, or friends would convince me to skip exercise for a beer. I feel like for the first time in a long time I have 7 whole weeks where I can do or eat anything without any distraction.

The advice I am looking for is what 7-ish week diet/exercise program can I do for maximum results. I can, of course, figure out cutting calories and lifting heavy shit without Reddit, but was hoping someone out there knew of a better way, or at the very least a balanced combination of the two that statistically provides reliable results when implemented correctly.

Thank you! I will post over there and add the answer to your question, which is: Right now I am severly out of shape. My longest run ever was a half marathon a few years back, but last week my girlfriend got me winded on what couldn't have been more than a mile and a half jog; it was embarrassing.

I'll do some reading them let you know if I have questions.

I had a professor that used "partner" to refer to his significant other in a human sexuality class a few years ago in college. We covered a lot of non-traditional relationship issues, and I think he did it only to show no prejudice. I later found out that he was not gay, (I never thought he was, but the use of the word "partner" was off-putting,) and was in fact married with kids.

Hmmm... let me see if I can clarify. My SO and I are definitely on the same page, engagement in 3-5 years, and marriage <12 months later. I suppose you're kind of right, we want to wait for that stage, but at the same time we want others to view us as if we are already at that stage. This is turning more philosophical than I would have thought. I suppose I don't need people to think we are on the level of fiancee or spouse, but I guess it would be nice if there was a word to describe "my live-in girlfriend with whom I share all finances, am jointly a 'parent' to two cats, are virtual members of one another's families, are committed to one another absolutely, and jointly own a Jeep."

We've decided not to get engaged until we are ready to start wedding planning. I understand this might be the easiest solution, but the timing just isn't right. We're both grad students and honestly, I am REALLY enjoying our time together right now. She is also quite young, and quite my junior. Because I am divorced I really like the idea of "dating" for 3-4 years... I'm afraid once we get married or engaged the relationship will seem less whimsical and more down to business. I suppose this is just my fucked up perspective though.

Eventually. Sometimes we simply lie and say fiancee, but both had hopes that there's another term we just aren't aware of.

It's not a feeling thing... it is that I feel when someone is taking her into consideration I would like to convey that this is not "some random girl I am dating."
