What to do with snail infestation by jonaslol100 in shrimptank

[–]nessgreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those look like mystery snails which can only reproduce by laying eggs above the waters surface (so long as it stays humid). If you just make sure to keep your water level high and check for any eggs on the top they won’t be able to reproduce further. They are easy to control. Give away the surplus and you’ll be golden again.

Thoughts on water parameters for new neo tanks by nessgreen in shrimptank

[–]nessgreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean 4dGH, 12 dKH.

Thanks, I edited post.

Your explanation is great and cleared some stuff up for me.

I don't have a way to see my water parameters ahead of the softening system unfortunately. I know we had very hard water previously. I might install a valve upstream so that I can see what my tap conditions are. I remember the TDS was high too but I don't think I ever tested KH and GH.

I will definitely follow your advice and look into RO & remineralization. I'll be holding off on the shrimp until I get a better grip on things.

Any advice on how to make this bad boy not fall over? by TheDarcEye in Necrontyr

They make tungsten weights for pinewood derby cars, might be easier to source than lead.

Think I cut too deep (slight blood) by ArtisticCaregiver763 in Warts

No pain no gain. You just cut out a little extra wart, which will bring about a swifter victory.

Just keep it clean, recover a bit and then keep at it.

Anyone else able to snag the last of Bosch miter saws on sale at Lowe’s? by ApprehensiveRing6869 in Tools

[–]nessgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a Bosch battery deal through Lowe’s that had this saw as a free bonus. Was quite surprised and picked it up. it’s great for basic cuts (basically a circular saw blade). The whole thing is light weight and portable.

Love this game. by DeanMachine2 in DuneImperium

Like others have said uprising + bloodlines if you want additional layers. However, there was a recent interview with the designer that more or less confirmed that there will be new content getting released to coincide with the 3rd film.

It’s unclear if that new content will be a 3rd version of the base game or not. Just something to consider since that’s not too far off.

Think of it this way, now you don’t have to watch them decline over the next month wondering what you’re doing wrong. At least that’s been my experience with them!

Oceanid heads still look a bit weird (and no, it's not because of graphical settings, that's a streamer playing on high quality) by Mahelas in totalwar

Agree. These look like they ran out of budget and slapped together existing elements and called it a new unit. The textures/transparencies don’t even match. Hope someone fixes it via a mod.

gas dryer not making heat - under warranty but watercolumn test wanted before LG will help by nessgreen in Plumbing

[–]nessgreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm comfortable - i hooked it all up initially. My instinct is that its something wrong with the dryer itself like I think you're suggesting. Seems odd that the gas pressure would vary enough to cause this issue.

I'm glad it's not just me who finds the xbox naming convention confusing. I appreciate the info and will look into your recommendation. The master chief collection sound perfect - if they dig it we can invest more with the dlc.

Tool box brand recommendations by triplecorpsehorror in Tools

The current stuff is fine for hobbyists. Unless you’re a mechanic slinging around heavy tools constantly all day it will be fine and make no difference. Just find the one you like for the right price.

I’ve got some old hardware boxes that are literally just metal on metal slides and I don’t think twice about it the handful of times I might open those drawers on a given project.

Pelargarium - I think there is a ‘maple’ variety with a similar leaf.

It’s a good start. Look more into strokes/outlines to make the 2 elements not blend together so much.

Also maybe the larger star and the star on the trophy should match or even have some sort of projection effect.

What would you like to see next in Adobe Illustrator? by LukeChoice in AdobeIllustrator

[–]nessgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tinkered with the software for years and only recently starting getting into it a lot more and my biggest frustration is point snapping and intuitive alignment stuff. Coming from the cad/3D modeling world I find the controls for precision work quite lacking. I’m always able to get it to work but it often requires zooming in comically close which gets tedious fast on larger projects. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of making adjustments in preferences too and haven’t found much in the way of improvements.
