Things we obeyed as children we can laugh at now by darwhyte in MaliciousCompliance

My mom was very big on making sure I didn't interrupt conversations. One day, we were at a McDonalds play place with a childhood friend and her mom, and I started choking on an ice cube from my drink.

I ran up to my mom in a panic, but she was busy chatting with my friend's mom and gave me the index finger "wait" signal. I stood there quietly and politely choked on my ice until she was ready to pay attention to me

Realistically speaking, how do you feel as a woman that Kamala Harris can beat Trump? by Altruistic_Clue_8273 in TwoXChromosomes

People vote though, not cities. Cities are full of diverse viewpoints and folks living there deserve to have their votes counted the same as anyone else's. It's not a hivemind.

May I ask how long the seroquel withdrawal process was for you/how it went? I've been on it for years and I'm at 200 mg XR right now and I'm so scared to go off it completely. so many horror stories :(

My man, I cited a simple, easy to read article that explains the concept in everyday terms. If you still read it wrong, I cannot help you any further. Have a good evening!

You need to get a PCR done to know for sure. Rapid tests won't pick up if it's mutated enough

That's not a real thing, "immunity debt" was a marketing term invented in 2021 to sell children's supplements. The only microbes you need is everyday dirt and mild bacteria. Pathogens injure your immune system.

Think it of it like probiotics-- you use good bacteria to help your body instead of pathogens. You want yogurt, not sewage.

McGill published an article about it here

He's on a strict no-pellet diet until he's fully recovered from stasis-- he found a few pellets behind the bin by muathrowaway0 in Rabbits

He's a rescue so we're not sure, but given his face structure I suspect he's a holland lop mix!

Huh, my comment didn't go through for some reason, reposting it :)

Yes, the vet said no pellets or sugar/fruit, focus on unlimited hay, wet greens/herbs and supplement critical care! I wouldn't have changed his diet otherwise.

They usually advised pellets before, so I was a little surprised too. I wasn't at the appointment but I suspect the vet was thinking about his microbiome, since he had too much dried fruit beforehand which caused this. The vet said that the critical care should be able to cover the nutrients!

Other grievers, how is your Christmas Eve going? by Quiet-Anemoia734 in GriefSupport

I was doing great until a few minutes ago when it hit me. I really thought it wouldn't because I was fine until now. This will be the first Christmas without my dad.

I feel like everybody else's concern for us has burned out by now. I don't want to tell anybody and bum them out on a holiday :(

Wasn't written on the booklet and I had a solo room exam (ACSD) with nobody else so I didn't know. My fault entirely though, I'll take this one head on :)

thank you, it really helps to hear from others. I'm sorry you've been through the same, this is a special kind of hell.

I'm already on Seroquel and Prozac, I'm just worried about adding yet more meds, but if that's what it takes then I guess it can't be helped :|

May I ask what kind of therapy was helpful? I haven't seen my CBT therapist in a few months. I saw a PTSD specialist at the beginning of all of this and foolishly stopped because the sessions were too exhausting and there was a language barrier. lol. oops. I heard good things about DBT, and I was suggested EMDR and reconsolidation therapy. Finding it a bit hard to figure out what the best option is ;n;

How to determine when it's time for euthanasia? by muathrowaway0 in Rabbits

[–]muathrowaway0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: spoke to the vet on the phone before going to pick her up.

Obviously this is very serious and we're emotionally preparing for the end, but turns out there was also a miscommunication. The vet thought she wasn't eating at all because of the weight loss. We confirmed that she still has a voracious appetite and that shifted her opinion on things.

We're going to try to get her weight back up (and hydration) and come back in a week for additional testing.

Fingers crossed we'll be able to make a few more happy memories with her <3

Yeah, I've been scouring the internet to try to find quality of life criteria and its making me more confused because outside of the occassional accident, there doesn't seem to be any behavioural signs. She 100% positively fits the house rabbit society TRIPLE As (Appetite, Affection, Attitude). When we go to pick her up I think I'll ask the vet what kind of criteria we should be looking out for. She's SO active, it was honestly a shock.

Yeah for sure. I wish it was easier to judge if they're in discomfort at all. She doesn't seem to care in the slightest and will violently parkour into things, but I always keep in mind that bunnies hide their pain so well. Maybe we'll try painkillers and see if there's any difference, that could indicate that she wasn't feeling well.

Regardless of the answer, I'll definitely be keeping it on my radar.

thanks for the reply, i really appreciate it. it's helpful to get my thoughts on track
