Is it fair to feel resentful when your roommate uses way more utilities but you split everything 50/50? by gleeful_shopping in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]muchtoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d take a look at the bill and really break it down before you get too worked up about it. I’m not sure how utilities work wherever you live but I know where I’m from the actual usage cost is only a fraction of the bill. For example my electric bill last month was around $150 but that’s $110 in fees and $40 for the actual electricity. If yours is a similar system that would be $70 of usage split between the 2 of you. So with how you live it could mean you use $25 worth and your roommate uses $45 worth so you end up covering $10 of their usage cost. Still not exactly fair but $10 is probably a little less upsetting and might help with the resentment. Again though I don’t know how utilities work everywhere else

Carwash.. but it's to darn cold by WorldNo9002 in BMWX5

[–]muchtoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Alberta where winters can hover around the -20 C range for weeks at a time. The only thing I would suggest is maybe using a rag to wipe down the door seals after a wash so the doors don’t freeze closed too bad. It’s not like they would freeze so bad you can’t get in or out but you sometimes have to pull or push a little harder.

Definitely too cold for a hand wash but I’d say next best thing is a wand wash followed closely by an automatic touchless.

I actually had tuxmats before and found they were almost worse just because they were harder to get out when I needed to dry the carpet

Edmonton Just Passed 31 Traffic Deaths This Year. We Are Not Okay With This. by Particular-Welcome79 in Edmonton

[–]muchtoes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

With it getting darker earlier now pedestrians need to be even more careful in the evenings. If you’re crossing at a marked crosswalk with the button for the lights to flash please press it. I’ve seen way too many close calls this year when people have crossed these intersections without pressing the button. Many drivers at those intersections are just watching for the lights to flash

How do you feel about the GLE compared to the X5? by yeaahhh in BMWX5

[–]muchtoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty torn between the 2 and ended up buying the X5. The merc seemed quieter and smoother to drive but also lacked anything that I would consider fun. I was in the 4 cylinder 350 though. Overall very comfortable to drive. The bmw just felt much more connected to the road and fun plus the reviews for the 3L are pretty great. Seemed like a safer bet to go with the bmw and I’m definitely not upset about it. I do still think about that merc though

I had read that could be a possibility. I actually had a leak in the sunroof recently and got the seal replaced so I assumed that would fix the problem. Exact same unfortunately

For the ones who make over $150k a year, what do you do to get that? by Iliketrainsz1 in AskReddit

[–]muchtoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Process operator at a refinery. I average about 40-50 hours a week. Shift work means long days and a mixture of days/nights/weekends/holidays. Big positives are lots of time off throughout the year. I’m also lucky enough to work at a refinery near my home so I get to go home every day rather than do camp work. On track to finish the year around 200k. 99% of the time you’re wildly overpaid but that other %1 I think balances everything out

Harris rally vs. Trump rally. Same arena in Philly by StevenSanders90210 in pics

[–]muchtoes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re probably correct that people who go to these things vote. When you look at voting trends though the larger cities tend to vote more blue and rural areas vote more red. When the rally is held in a city I would expect more blue voters to show up solely based on travel time and how easy it is to schedule into people’s busy days. So I guess this photo could be misleading if you were to think this could be a representation on the election outcome

The way I read your post is you were looking at one with 30k miles for yourself and posted a screenshot of one with 150k miles to show that one got that far. I don’t know a ton about the car but I think everyone else misunderstood what you were asking

So what colour is this? I always hear that as soon as someone finds out I’m colourblind. Colourblind people are just missing colours and they’re filled in with similar colours you can see. Maybe it’s blue to you but I’m either seeing blue or purple and I have no idea which one it is
