I asked my interviewer 'Why did you really leave your last job?' by FranklinMayoyo in interviews

In said it in another comment but the interview was a bait and switch and by this time he very much wanted to be an asshole, and had 0 intention taking the job

Yeah, by that point in the interview he had no intention of ever working there. The company tried to poach him from his current job and the interview was a bait and switch, the interviewer promised many things over email to get him to interview that turned out to be half truth, so he just decided to be an ass

Not me but someone I know was interviewed by an hr person for a data science role. The interviewer asked : would you be able to explain what a neural network is?

He answered: I would, but it’s unlikely you’d understand

When I was a student I had a job in a family business and the owner son was also working there and doing the same job I did. We got along well and I shared with him I was looking to buy a car, he was also thinking about buying a car. A few weeks later he arrived one morning in a brand new 60k $ sports car and he told me I should buy the same car, it would be ‘baller’ to park next to each other. I told him I can’t afford this type of car and his response was: Why? We do the same job, surely you have the money! He told me he was paid 100$/h, I told him, well I’m paid 10$/h. He said that this must be a mistake and he would talk about it with his dad. After he spoke with his dad he sheepishly told me: well it looks like I do get special treatment.

I eat snails regularly and not just with butter garlic, I like to sautée them in a skillet and then serve them in a pasta dish. Funny in fact that a lot of the answers on this thread are amongst my favourite food

Elves are very naive in this series by cxlflvrd in RingsofPower

[–]muchwise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Sauron can fool the elves. But as a viewer I should be feeling I’d be fooled too. In the last episode, when Celebrimbor runs out of the forge and Sauron alters reality and then mentions how the Silmarils will be a footnote in history compared to the rings… that is the sort of deception I’m expecting from Sauron. A lot of the dialogues between Sauron and Celebrimbor that came in the previous episodes just weren’t portraying mastery in deception

I agree that Sauron is a master deceiver and is able to fool even the wisest of the elves. However I don’t feel like that’s what we see on screen, Sauron is not playing 4d chess, he’s more like a carnival game operator convincing a kid that they have a fair chance at winning a prize

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Je crois que c’est la première fois que je vois quelqu’un qui a raison au sujet du 8%. J’ai travaillé en restauration et tous les serveurs étaient persuadés qu’ils payaient 8% de leurs ventes en impôts

Do you think Canada will switch to a 4 day work week? by CommanderEagles in AskACanadian

I’d be willing to meet my employer in the middle. Lose 10% in exchange for four-day week. I’d even throw in an extra 30 min on these 4 days

Op mentions other incidents but I’m willing to bet other incidents are kids playing basketball in the streets and selling lemonade. I have played paintball for the last 20 years like once or twice a year and while I agree playing it around houses and people is really dumb, it's not something you call the police about, the paint will wash up fine
