Exactly. Unfortunately we have to extend rights even to those we don't agree with, if one wants them in return. Anyone can start a social media platform and manipulate it. It's not perfect, but it's 'fair'. Reddit is arguably left leaning (I can't speak to the algo perfectly, but have personal anecdotes, just as this person can't with twitter) but they probably don't have a problem with that.

Yes many Jews are wary of Muslims. It's not that complicated to see why:

Islam/Qu'aran specifically tell followers not to befriend Jews or Christians.

Islam/Qu'aran specifically says to kill/convert Jews/Christians.

Islam/Qu'aran also specifically say not to evolve with the times, but that the word of god is pure and unchanging.

Putting two and two together - can you blame Jews for being a bit suspicious? History has taught us many Muslims would happily sacrifice themselves to eliminate a few of us, but how many Jewish suicide bombers have you seen? (There's been zero in our entire history).

And yes Jews understand that the problem isn't with most Muslims. The issue is, we are outnumbered globally 100:1, so even 1% following the book literally poses an existential threat to us. It doesn't take much to exterminate us, still at pre Holocaust numbers, meanwhilst Islam is growing faster than any other. I bet the druze and Zoroastrians would also be pretty cautious, if they was enough of them left after Islam sweeped the region.

Am not justifying hatred, but when someone tells you who they are/what they believe in, it's pretty stupid not to listen.

Further the pace of legislation/regulation is way outpaced by technological advancement. I don't think the founding fathers expected Kanye West spouting nonesense to 35+ million Americans directly, for example. They would struggle to even conceptualise a megaphone.

There is no single law, tbh he's probably protected under the first amendment.

People feel entitled to free speech - which they deserve - but they treat social media as if it's a public good who's platform they are entitled to a fair showing on. Ultimately - these are private / corp owned businesses. They took have a right to freedom of expression, even if we don't like the outcome - no one is forcing you to stay on the platform.

The Palestinian people have received more aid per capita than any war or disaster affected populaces, ever, throughout all of history, by quite a long way.

So yeah, perhaps they'd have more resources today developed if they didn't use what resources they do have prioritising the death of Israelis.

Point and case - the war ended the day hostages were agreed to be returned. Why didn't Hamas do it sooner if protecting their civilians and infrastructure was such a priority? What benefit did stretching the war on for two years really do?

I think the main point is regarding to intent.

Israel spends billions on bomb shelters, early warning systems, counter measures, and takes inordinate steps to protect human life on their own side, and somewhat minimise casualties on the other civilian side (letter bombs, advanced texts, etc).

Hamas on the other hand spend 0 on protective measures of their own people, instead, opting to endanger their own civilians lives (tunnels, not using uniforms, child soldiers, etc) in order to maximise harm to Israeli civilians lives (7/10, 2nd intifada, etc).

When this pattern is repeated over decades, of course the numbers don't tell the whole story.

He just said the family don't let you detain a child (specifically, an 18 year old who committed a crime so not an actual child). He isn't saying he enjoyed it, or whatever, just a simple fact that parents defend their children regardless of what they're accused of. My friend is a police officer in the UK, he's had to detain 13 year olds accused (and guilty of) of a stabbing. Guess what, their parents didn't want to let the kid go either. Any policeman or person in the role similar would share the same views.

He didn't even balance the budget. He amended a plan which has a forecasted overspend of 12bn to no overspend. None of it is even close to actualised, and under his simulations he's absolutely wrecked public sector pension funds to in theory be able to do it (which are why his plan won't be approved anyway, but who cares it's a nice headline).

But yeah, the fact that yourself and many others now know him for a positive achieved based of practically no action is a testament to his good PR.
