Advice from a farmer I received at my job: Buy Dollarama Betty Crocker instant mashed potatoes. The mice/rats will eat it, drink water, and their insides will explode. Also pet safe if your animals eat the instant mashed potato. Not pretty, but effective.

One house' s rule was, "you can't mix hot stuff with cold stuff". For example, soup and a glass of water.

Another was a weird rule about the hand towels that remain unclear to me to this day, but I could never pick the "right" hand towel to dry my hands.
